Floyd Johnson: We watched Julie and Julia and fell in love with the idea of cooking our way through the cook books. Unfortunately, we are not retired yet, and haven't done it yet. But we are still looking forward to it!

White Rabbit Reviews: I am a pretty seasoned home cook, and I have had these cookbooks in my wish list for a long time. I was told they are pretty much a must-have for any home cook. I finally caved and ordered them, and I was not let down in the slightest! The recipes alone are fantastic, but the techniques and tricks you learn are invaluable.
Not only do I now have delicious, authentic French recipes in my repertoire from a seasoned chef, but the techniques to cook every meal infinitely better. These books really are classic for a reason and are must-haves for ANY cook!
My only con, if I had to mention one, is that there are no pictures- it is all words. So do not purchase this cookbook expecting to see beautiful food pictures.

Patricia L.: I love the cookbook, even though I am not a fan of French Food.
Julia Child was what I call a “bridge”.
There are a few people in history who transverse critical times.
I love old cookbooks because they speak honest history, no politics and no b.s.
Julia’s cookbooks tell me the story of a country devastated by war, but which, like herself, refused to back down, to become something less.
Most of us these days do not have the time to put into these dishes, but when we can, and do, it is an act of love, of joy, of resisting the noise.
Julia brings into the kitchen the very spirit of resistance….to put a well cooked and presented meal in front of your family is an act of love that makes the troubles of the world melt away.

K StephensonK Stephenson: Inspired by recent television versions of the life and cooking of Julia Child, my wife has begun a blog on her experiences in mastering French cooking throughout 2023. So these volumes were a present to assist her in her journey.
Beautifully presented in their own slip case, the two volumes are illustrated with detailed line drawings and clearly outlined recipes. These are not your flashy, glossy lightweights full of pages of enticing full page photos, these are classics from the 1960s. These are detailed tried and tested recipes from a passionate exponent of French cuisine who turned America TV audiences away from their TV dinners.
I’m sure that these will get some heavy use, not only in 2023, and I will get the benefit of their contents although my waistline will probably suffer.

Oksana: After watching "Julie & Julia" I knew I had to get myself these books. I love cooking, and I love eating, and I love even more when the food is so delicious it literally makes you want to beg for more.
I probably won't be creating a blog to showcase each recipe come to life, but I'm definitely going to treat myself and my family to some delicious meals.

Fotos sucht man vergeblich.

Internet Citizen: It's the classic, so it comes down to whether it was received as expected. It was! Materials and binding are good, the print is as expected. It shipped without damage. There isn't much more to say.
