Kimberly Schmidt: Not what I was expecting. Not many recipes. Lots of food substitution and booster lists. I was looking for the Keto Mediterranean to be outlined, much of the book is about meditation, self help and buying more stuff from his website.

MarinaMay: I bought this book as I was interested in the effects of dopamine and serotonin and what it does to the brain. I know I am influenced and keep seeking the same things. I have found it fascinating and am half way through. However I do worry that this book is only focusing on one study - the one that says sugar shrinks your brain. While it is good to read proper peer reviewed scientific studies - there needs to be more than one to back it up. You will still get a lot out of this book and see how your behavior can be driven by your brain chemicals. You can make the decision from there.

Sandie: This book offers a different approach to food. It’s not new in which foods are good and why- it is new in dealing with how foods trigger emotions that help us avoid dealing with negativity- whether than negativity is energetic or emotional - it get to the cause of weight gain beyond the insulin response of storing and deeper. It is short on meal planning bigger on behavior change- how to do that - which is needed. If losing weight just came down to understanding good and bad foods and doing that right obesity would already be handled. This book is an easy read and good contribution to the way we approach food. Recommended.

Maureen M.: The idea and theme is interesting, but it is pages and pages of extra information. Get to the point already. I was so frustrated with the wordiness and the multiple examples of people who did the diet outlined in the book. The writing was hard to follow. Each chapter contained so much extra, off topic info. Get To the point! I don’t need to,read sentences about what I’m going to learn in chapter 11 or 12, or 14. This is not a well written book.

Daria L.: Very interesting information, but I was hoping for more meal planning ideas than were included in the book. Basically, the concept is discussed several times from different directions, but the whole idea could have been given in a much shorter essay. Unfortunately, it's a life style I'd find very hard to follow, once you get down to the nitty gritty, and certain parts - such as juice is not good, but eat all the whole fruits you can. What's the difference between home juices fruits/veggies and eating it whole in any quantity you want. That made no practical sense to me. That's only one example. Again, interesting information, will apply what I can to my own life, but like most "diet, lifestyle change books, I can't buy into it wholesale.

Linda: I love reading Sugar Brain Fix by Dr Mike Dow.
Sugar has been a weakness for me all my life and his description of how and why is an answer to my prayers! I’ve tried so many times to just go cold turkey with sugar only to be defeated and return to it. I love the approach of adding the greens to my diet instead of restricting the sugar to change my way of eating. The change is truly emotional and physical. I am making the changes one step at a time and I can feel the difference. I feel like Dr Mike Dow is speaking to me as I’m reading and I highly recommend that you read this book. It’s the answer for me and I hope for you as well.

Adiya Akhmetova: I love dr Mike Dow ever since from Freaky Eaters :) and when I saw he published a book, I decided to purchase it.
I loved that the book was not too complicated and because English is my second language sometimes it’s hard to read , however, not in this case.
Sugar can be difficult addiction but learning and understanding where they are coming from help to fight the cravings. I’m not going to lie, I still don’t follow everything dr Mike suggested but I still enjoyed the book and would recommend buying it if you are interested in discovering more information about your brain when it comes to food and also if you just like books about healthy lifestyle/habits.
