xofjohn: I picked this up specifically because the wifi reception on a refurbished laptop I purchased was spotty. I figured I would plug in an ethernet cable connected to my router, but no RJ45 jack built in. So I found this device which I figured might not give me blazing speed, but at least something better than 2g wifi. Unfortunately, I think my computer was just insufficient, or didn't have the software to make it operational.
Great concept, and I've used something similar with a USB-C connection on a ChromeBook to get full 350 Mbps over ethernet cable, but I couldn't get it to work with this device and my old laptop.

Topher: Ran into some issues recently where I was getting 80mbps download on a wired gigabit connection. After several hours of troubleshooting, I managed to trace the issue to the ethernet port on my motherboard; apparently there's an issue with that specific controller. I ordered this as sort of a test solution, and it worked immediately. Right out of the box it was recognized, and my speed tests are back to ~950 Up/Down..

It does exactly what it says on the label, it's cheap, it's super easy to use, and TP Link is a brand I've always had faith in. I can't find anything bad to say here, this product is a no-brainer.

Michael: Plugged in and it worked perfectly as far as I can tell. After running flat out for 10 minutes the dongle feels comfortably warm.
