Digdog: Pros - its light and gives very good speed for its main intended use - using ethernet with a laptop without ethernet port. Very easy plug and play, no problems with speeds through the adapter. Flashdrives work well. Not seen any lag, delays accessing photos and videos.

Cons - USB devices such as keyboard and mouse have a lot of lag ! To the point it's unusable. Keystrokes are delayed to the point you think keyboard not working. Mouse movements have enough lag so fine movement impossible.

Hence only marking 3 stars as is failed to do what I needed it to do - only occupy one USB port for ethernet and peripherals.

Chad RChad R: It's a good device and I will surely use it to reduce clutter when traveling to customer sites BUT it does fall short the performance claims.

Network and USB file transfer testing was done with a mouse, camera, and yubikey connected but not in use.

You will get about 750 mbps on the NIC and the USB hub is no where close to the 5gbps they claim, it touched about 1gbps after starting up and drops in half in short order.

Other USB to Ethernet single-function devices I have used will get 940mbps on the network which is a realistic cap due to overhead of network protocols on a 1gbps network connection.

This device is "fast enough" to be useful for me despite not meeting the claimed performance. I don't recommend using it if you want fast storage connected through it but it's great for keyboard, mouse, network etc.

UPDATE:
I discovered a bug in the device or in the driver that prevents its use while configuring a SonicWall firewall. Once sending credentials into the firewall the USB ethernet connection fails and has to be reset.
