usb 1-4: RTL8192EU rev B (SMIC) 2T2R, TX queues 3, WiFi=1, BT=0, GPS=0, HI PA=0
usb 1-4: rtl8xxxu: Loading firmware rtlwifi/rtl8192eu_nic.bin
usb 1-4: Firmware revision 19.0 (signature 0x92e1)

Vojislav Vlasic: Bought a couple of usb wireless adapters so I could figure out which one works the best with my Raspberry Pi 2.
These are the ones I bought and tested:
- Panda 300Mbps Wireless N USB Adapter with High Gain Antenna
- TP-LINK TL-WN823N 300Mbps Wireless Mini USB Adapter
- Edimax EW-7811UTC AC600 Dual-Band USB Adapter

I wasn't testing the range but I can say that Panda would definitely have the best range of them all, signal strength was better then with the other two.
I'm using my D-link Dir-868l router which supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

These are the transfer rates I managed to achieve (All speeds are in MB/s):

Windows 7 laptop (I attached these wireless adapters and installed the newest drivers)
Edimax 5GHz 18-20
Edimax 2.4GHz 5,4-5,5
Tp link 2.4GHz 6,5-6,7
Panda 2.4GHz 8,1-8,3

Raspberry Pi 2 with OPENELEC 5.95.5
Edimax 5GHz 6,2-6,4
Edimax 2.4GHz 2,7-3
Tp link 2.4GHz 3,6-3,9
Panda 2.4GHz 2-2,6

Raspberry Pi 2 with OSMC 2015.08-1
Edimax 5GHz 6,1-6,3
Edimax 2.4GHz 5-5,3
Tp link 2.4GHz 3,7-4
Panda 2.4GHz 2,2-2,7

T. White: This works for a system that uses Peppermint OS 3 very well. I plugged it in and it ran. No need to install the drivers from the CD that came with this adapter. It gets a strong signal. It doesn't even get warm like my older adapters. It does not disconnect while using the Peppermint OS 3 system. I tried to load the drivers and wireless manager from the CD and it just kept freezing on the XP system so I just installed the drivers. Although, XP had drivers for a 300Mbps wireless adapter already to be used when I plugged this in. So maybe you don't need them with XP. I have been using it for a week. I have 2. One for my laptop and one for my Desktop and both run well on Peppermint OS 3. My Desktop is a dual boot Linux Peppermint and XP. Now I can use both and have faster downloads and uploads.
I purchased this because I had a wireless adapter that kept getting disconnected when using the Peppermint OS 3 operating system. The XP system on the same machine used the adapter just fine but the Linux side didn't. I read that some adapters just didn't stay connected if using a Linux system and to try a kind that did. I saw a list of adapters that were reportedly operating well with...

KMcCMedia: I got this after having an HP Pavilion with a terrible Ralink card that just couldn't hold a WiFi connection. I was despairing of ever being able to just work with my computer without constantly fussing with WiFi. This HP problem is common and their machines won't accept a different card. Finally for the price of a very nice chocolate bar, I have a low-profile accessory that I can use when I'm out that has been stable in challenging environments. I'm starting to feel more confident about my connection and able to focus on the task, not the computer.

Nice little adapter. It isn't as fast as my Mac on speed-test, but it's pretty sweet
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Update for HP Pavilion owners - Like me.
I'm still glad I bought this, because it does make my connection more stable. I think there is a problem with these computers being able to hold a wireless connection. I blamed the built in RaLink wireless card and so I bought this USB dongle. It did improve things a lot, so I'm happy. Still there are times when the only thing I can do is restart the whole computer. I dual boot Ubuntu and Windows and the problem seems platform irrespective. Happens at home, happens...
