Fozzy Bear: Laptop internal WiFi was limited to 2.4ghz connection speed to the router and was also dropping out and losing connection regularly. Did some research and have used tplink stuff before so despite some negative reviews thought it was worth a go. One word of caution - you must get the newest drivers from the tplink website and install them. There is plenty of help and videos there to get you up and running. It's essential you download the drivers for your particular operating system and your Dongle version number. It will say on the Dongle whether its V 1,2 or 3. Once I had the Dongle and drivers installed I selected my 5.00ghz channel on my WiFi router and connected and my speed increased dramatically. Obviously it will depend on your Internet speed connection but this unit tops out around 400+Mbps so will be more than fast enough for most UK homes. So far it's been stable with no loss of connection so it's been a cheap upgrade and for me a definite positive purchase and we'll worth the £10.00. 👍

PT: The wireless network adapter in my laptop would not detect my mobile phone hot spot. It was also unable to detect hotel and other office networks. I bought the TP link as a possible solution. I had to disable the built in wifi adapter and enable the TP link using the device manage but this was very easy. The TP link was plugged into a USB 3.0 port. To my amazement it self installed and worked first time. WiFi speeds are comparable with the built in adapter and it solves a lot of issues for me. It's also very small with little risk of the USB port being damaged by the adapter if it was knocked. Excellent product.

Older-n-Dirt: In all, I've owned 5 of these adapters, and 3 are still in daily use in my home. Two old desktops get their only network connection via the T2U, and basically, I never have to think about them, they just work. I use the third one to provide a 5G connection for my Laptop, which already has an internal 2.4G adapter. Again, generally it's just working, but occasionally, I have to re-connect the 5G channel. Not sure if it's the T2U or my ASUS laptop that's to blame. The other two adapters are a different story. My first one came apart when I tried to unplug it from my laptop for travel. I tried to put it back together, but afterwards it only worked intermittently. The last one I purchased "used" from Amazon, and it came to me literally broken-in-half inside the box. Disappointed, however they quickly sent a replacement and that one works fine. For an average cost of about $11, I won't complain. I'd recommend the T2U.

Patrick D.: I purchased this for my older but still going strong laptop but was met with a few problems the main being that it seemed like it was throttling my laptop's CPU which is the biggest and the included software which I liked because of the display and ease of use would be at a constant 5-25% of CPU use, you can use it without the software if you want but I figured I'd try it also it comes in slow mode I wasn't getting high speeds until I added the software though the speeds weren't much better so I had to manual adjust it from the computers networking area which too a day or 3 to figure out switching back and forth between different modes I couldn't figure out how to get it to enter AC mode so I left it in N mode so it would at least be fast of course I did accidentally get it stuck in G more which I had to fix I finally figured out how to get it into AC mode and was getting nice speeds of 30-50 or so Mbps because of the 2.4 so it took me a good while to figure out how to get it to enter 5ghz mode as well as I eventually did and was able to top out at 100-120mbps although sadly it didn't stay that way and was constantly switching on me and the speed would randomly go down do I was...

Bryan: I have owned this item (TP-LINK Archer T2U AC600) for about 9 months now and it continues to "sputter" (intermittent delays) when connected. It doesn't have any problems connecting and never disconnects completely. At first I didn't notice this because it was easily masked by tasks that only use short burst of network activity (ie. surfing the web) where the majority is downloaded in the background. However when I began to remote into my other computer he latency became blatantly apparent (and very annoying) especially when working with documents.

I have a Dell Studio 17 with Windows Vista Pro 64 and if I use the built in WiFi card I do not notice any latency, however it's not compatible with my ac router for the faster speeds and I do notice the that screen loads are quite a bit faster with the new AC600.

I've updated to the latest driver via the TP-LINK site, which is actually about a year old (Archer_T2U_V1_150901, mm/dd are reversed) without any change. Now that most of my time is spent with a remote login to my other computer I am going to reach out to TP-LINK to see if this can be resolved but I can't give it more than 1 star at this point.
