Brian: Not the fanciest thermometer for aquariums out there, but it gets the job done and at a very cheap price. I have gone through several digital aquarium thermometers through the years and this one is not only the best I have used, but the cheapest too. It is accurate and the suction cups work wonderful. I use to of these pieces, one for my tank, and the other for my water barrel I pump water out of during water changes. This helps make sure the new water is as close to the aquarium's temperature as possible causing less stress on the fish. The biggest and the only drawback I can think of for this product is that it ships from China and takes forever to arrive in the mail. It took weeks to get here, so do not buy this if you are in a hurry and need one immediately.

Tom: This worked well for several months and then things started to malfunction. The first to go was the power on/off switch; the next was the display. It started giving false readings compared to the heater's setting and an instant read device. I ended up losing a few fish because I trusted this over the heater which was my fault. I should have used the "finger test" at least I would have saved a couple of the fish right away. I think I am done. I'll use something else rather than rely on electronics . . . but what? The mechanical ones just end up breaking because the larger fish seem to like bumping into them. I'm not sure about the stick-on strips either. I think I'll buy a dedicated instant read device rather than get caught using my wife's instant read one.

birdlover442000: I thought this might not work because it was so cheap, but I tested it on various water temperatures before placing it in my fish tank, and it seemed to register them. After having it in my fish tank for several days, it has worked great reading the temperatures, and it is sensitive since it reads one decimal place out. I like how it can be in F or C degrees, depending on what unit you know or like better. In case you were wondering, you have to hold down the power button for several seconds in order to get it to turn off - at first I was not sure how to turn it off because the instructions did not tell me.

Jessica: For such a cheap thermometer, this was more than I expected. There was no review, so I took a chance when I bought it. This measure temperature quite accurately. This is not a fancy thermometer, but for one betta fish, it's great to keep an eye on the temperature. It can be switched from F to C, or vice versa. The power button does not seem to work...but it's always on anyway, and the batteries have lasted. It's been two months or so, and it's still working!

The batteries finally ran out, but this has lasted almost a year. Not bad! Will be ordering another.
