SewOT: As an Occupational Therapist who's in the beginning stages of becoming a Pelvic Health Therapist, I am looking for all the resources to not only expand my own knowledge base, but that of those whom I serve, which are those who identify as cis-gender female in the perinatal period.

I truly looked forward to reading a few pages of this book each day and have gained so many nuggets of information for building my skills as a practitioner.

I look forward to reading the other two books in the series, and making the series a go to resource for my clientele.

Thanks for the wisdom and insights shared!

Nicole G.: I've read a lot of pelvic health books and been through pelvic PT, so most of this information isn't new to me. What IS new, however, is the non-gendered language and inclusive nature of the content. Torborg notes not only that her previous 2 pelvic health books are written in gendered language, but goes above and beyond by using asterisks to denote when a resource she is referencing uses gendered language. I can't wait to see more pelvic health books take gender diversity into consideration. I will not hesitate to recommend Your Pelvic Health in the future to anyone, regardless of gender identity (it is, however, specifically geared toward folks with vaginas).

Ashish: Author explains in short about pelvic region, the anatomy, the problems pre and post pregnancy. Few breathing techniques are also explained which are very helpful in strengthening pelvic floor muscles.

Stacey Divis: As a PT, i found this to be a great read that I can refer my patients to if they are looking for ways to improve their pelvic health!

tracey e: There are NO exercises to improve pelvic floor health. In some sections there are general suggestions that may help, if bowel issues are part of your pelvic floor concerns. There are drawings of anatomy and very general descriptions of changes, such as what happens with menopause, or to go slowly in resuming activities and sex after giving birth. This book was very disappointing, and more like a large pamphlet. Thankfully, it was not expensive, but it was not a good purchase.

Ashley Johnson: An easy to read book filled with information on topics most don’t want to ask or perhaps, know to ask. This book offers many suggestions to help guide you to make small goals for yourself to acheive a number of healthy changes “down there”. The PT gives insight to some of the most common concerns regarding urinary, bowl and sexual heath. I, myself have started putting her words into action by focusing on pressurization in the body, connecting breathing with posture, muscle control and the nervous system. Having had a baby has changed my muscle tone and I notice when I do high impact activities like running or jumping that my pelvic floor muscles feel loose. I Look forward to gaining back my muscle tone by achieving one goal at a time through these practices.

Andrea Kamu: A great introduction to pelvic floor health with a systematic layout: basic anatomy with easy to understand visuals, Bladder-, bowel-, sexual-health and changes as a consequence of hormonal changes and aging during life. The author has an honest and respectful way of describing our world “down there “ in an easy to digest language . You get great tips for common pelvic floor issues. But the greatest message for me of this book was : just because something is common, does not mean it’s normal! You don’t have to accept it and organise your life around your problem. Take a deep breath and seek out for help. It’s not easy but if you find the right therapist you can change your life for better. Quality of life is as important as life itself! As a Physiotherapist I highly recommend this book for everyone who has a vagina or/and uterus!

Lindsay: This book is a resource I wish I had 15 years ago when I was a younger woman trying to understand my body, and is equally valuable as I re-learn my new normal after children. It is for every woman, in any stage of life - and maybe any man too who is curious or is looking to learn more about the pelvic floor since men have one too! The author does an exceptional job of breaking the information down in an easily understood way to help answer some of the mysteries of the pelvic floor, bladder, bowel and sexual health.

Caroline Anthon: I found this book on pelvic health very informative and easy to understand. The links to the resources are fabulous.

Malia Scheidt: This book is a fabulous reference not only for pelvic rehab providers and their patients but ANYONE looking to understand what is going on 'down there', which includes pretty much all of us with vaginas and uteruses. It's to the point, easy and quick to read and the author makes excellent use of visuals and explains how to complete certain things with excellent direction. It also gives a great references section chapter by chapter for finding more info on a topic, provides tips that can make a HUGE difference for all, and then goes into more detail for those dealing with dysfunction and/or different life stages ranging from puberty to postmenopause. This book brings to light so many things that are just not common knowledge, but should be- hopefully we can begin to change that with publications like this! This is absolutely a book I will be utilizing in my clinic and will be referring people to both personally and professionally.
