Doris Day: Dr, su makes exercising easy. He gives you the tools and it's all up to you. You really don't need a gym. Just a few items to get you going and 90% are all ready in your home. There's also a support team. I highly recommend this book.

Debbie Tudor: I’m an exercise instructor and lead Senior Fitness classes for the last two decades. I see this book as written for someone to have a personal guide to achieve a good fitness routine, especially if they also join Dr. Su’s online community. The exercises are classic moves in any good Physical Therapists toolkit, and good for everyone at any age. However, I think Seniors thrive in community, and without community fall off in caring for themselves as they might. I’m certain that a Care Giver could benefit from reading this book and helping their client.

Toytoy369: I am using this book now and finding it useful.
I found the author's credentials reassuring. He sounds like a very knowledgable Physical Therapist. PT's often know more than doctors about which exercises are best for certain conditions.
In addition to describing the exercises, the author covers other issues to help you achieve your physical goals, like the importance of eating enough protien when engaging in a muscle-strengthening program, and how to overcome mental resistance to starting the program.
Again, it's a useful book for strengthening weak legs &/or increasing your balance.
The only drawback is that, like with all exercises, they only work if you do them.

Tine Tinbergen: Het is goed geschreven qua uitleg. Ik heb er van geleerd. Als ik nog 60 was zou ik nog de spierkracht en de flexibiliteit hebben om deze in stand te houden. Voor 60+ prima.

Emily: While aimed at the 60+ crew, everyone would benefit from the 6 minute workout, even just as a warm up or a break from the desk while waiting for kettle to boil. This book would have been better with photos rather than drawings, and more modification options for shoulder/hip/knee issues and strengthening. Combos with more movement in the lateral/frontal plane and transfers/twisting planes would have rounded this book out - consider it for volume 2...

bookworm: As I hit 65, I'm aware that I've neglected myself over the years and it seems sensible to start some sort of strength exercising, but most books and YouTube videos are aimed at those who already have some strength. Couch to 5K? Don't make me laugh! I can hardly get off the couch some days.
40 odd years of sitting at a desk have left me weaker than most of the 75-year-olds I know. This book is aimed at anyone 60 - 100, even those who have really lost a huge amount of muscle, inevitable as we get older if we don't work to keep it. The Author, Dr Jonathan Su, knows his stuff. Not only is he qualified and experienced, but he has brought the exercises needed to really change your body down to 6 minutes, twice a day. I know - I was surprised too.
Although Jonathan claims you will see results in 15 days, this is an 8-week programme. There are three levels, starting with those who can't stand for 6 minutes, so the exercises are done lying down. Stage 2 is for people who can stand but not walk vigorously for 6 minutes, or for whom stairs are an issue. These are done standing with a chair for support. Level 3 involves using a step - this is for people who can walk at a vigorous pace...

Kindle Customer: When I became a physical therapist 7 years ago I quickly noticed something surprising - there becomes a huge gap in physical abilities in patients over the age of ~55. I would have some patients who were 55-65+ and running 5Ks and half marathons. Then I'd have another patient who was 56 being wheeled into the clinic in a wheelchair by a child who could barely stand, would easily get out of breath, and couldn't take care of themselves. The difference? Neither person usually had any serious medical condition, though both patients tended to have most of the same diagnoses of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arthritis, chronic pain, etc. But what stuck out to me was the attitude and perspective. The patient wanting to run that next week had the attitude of "Yeah, it hurts a little but that's just how it is" whereas the patient in the wheelchair tended (not always!) to be more like, "It hurts when I move so I just sit here and watch TV".
I fully believe that by our 50s-60s we become the sum of the millions of tiny, seemingly small, and insignificant decisions that we've made over the course of our life. Do you exercise or watch TV? Watch what you eat or survive on fast...
