B. Nicole: Great book for those considering natural alternatives to help their children with behavior problems. Although I was already keeping food dyes and some preservatives out of my daughters diet, this book opened my eyes to other ingredients that can trigger behavioral problems. My daughter does so much better and is so much more pleasant to be around when I'm watching her diet and keeping it as close to natural as possible. When she has food dyes and preservatives she whines, throws temper tantrums, is hard to ration with, wakes up multiple times each night and has night terrors. When she eats healthy, natural foods, most of those issues disappear. She only whines a little when she is tired, but she is 4 and that is completely normal.
My sister in law's son has ADHD and behavioral issues very similar to my daughters, but he has been put on medication after medication. First to deal with the ADHD, then to deal with the many side effects that the ADHD medication caused. It's like a terrible ripple effect and unfortunately he still has behavioral issues along with many other issues now. My sister in law took away the dyes for a week and said she was noticing a difference but then...

Amy Ames: Great book which has helped me realise just how much food plays a part on our health and behaviour. As someone with a daughter who has been diagnosed ADHD and a son who is equally as up and down with temperament, I have been wondering how I tackle the minefield that is food and the impact it has on my family. This book has helped me realise I can make a difference, and that its perfectly achievable for the whole family. A great aid, thank you!

Mrs Sharon Wilson: This book was enlightening, very well written, honest and gave me hope that there may be an alternative to medication for my son, who is very hyperactive and just awaiting assessment. Thanks so much for all of your help, advice, honesty, information and feingold diet information.

KJ: Why did I choose this rating? First off, this book is very well organized. She tells her story and gives you the inside scoop about eating dye free, artificial flavor free, and reduce preservatives as well as salicylates (I never knew apples or raisins could have an impact on behavior). She also discussed gluten and dairy free (Not what applies to us (I'd try it if it would help), but great info). The amount of time and research that went into this book and the plethora of resources at the end is worth the 5 stars. I didn't dislike anything and it really is worth purchasing.
It helped me grasp what The Feingold Diet truly includes. I have thought about purchasing the membership to Feingold many times, but their website looks outdated and I personally didn't feel their info would be up to date or worth the money. Based on this book, I purchased the membership. Yes, the info is current and it is worth the money. Prior, I tried to Google foods + Feingold and that was not functional and very limiting because I only saw what other families purchased and ate and their info could be incorrect based on Feingold's list.
Whom should read this: Everyone. Parents. Educators....

Ms. Laila: I was told about the Feingold diet by another mom in my 6y/o daughter's special needs program. I read the information on the official Feingold web site first, but I wanted to read some other resources first before diving in. That's when I found "All Natural Mom's Guide to the Feingold Diet."
1) Very relatable - I felt as if I wrote the book about my daughter. I caught myself shaking my head and laughing out loud at some of the things, because I can just relate. Any parent with a child with ADHD symptoms will be able to relate. There will be many "aha" moments while reading the book.
2) Fast reading - I like the fact that the book is not too long. It's only 206 pages (and that includes the resources, recipes, and references she includes at the end. If you have the time and you're a fast reader, you could get through the book in a matter of hours. However, it took me a couple of weeks. Only because I was reading it chapter by chapter in 20 minute spurts on the train! I really like that she kept the chapters short and sweet.
3) Easy reading - I did not feel overwhelmed by a whole bunch of scientific talk and difficult words. Sheri does cover some of the major...

Fionas: I bought this book for a good friend who is struggling with her childs behavioural issues. It really helped her to take the steps needed to change her child's diet and also to purchase the Feingold food lists, early days but already some good progress made.
