Amazon Customer: I am continuously surprised when I select a new book from Dean Koontz. His stories never fail to grip me and pull me into his world. And what a world it is! His works are a library unto themselves. Time for my next adventure!!!

Lorrie A: I absolutely love my animals and so wish that my sweet dog and I could communicate even better than we do. I also love children, all children so I was happy for Kipp’s adventure and the rewards that went with it. Of course there are very bad men and a very devious plot . What do you think of trans humans? Interesting concept or reality. This story makes you think of the possibilities and what it could do to your life. Greed, power, money, and an eternal life. What would you do for that prize? Or is it a prize or a
Demonic request? Dean Koontz is always a good read and this is no exception.

John Russell: I ordered this book after reading something online about it. It had been mentioned (spoiler incoming) that it could be linked to one of Koontz's earlier novels, 'Watchers' - one of my all-time favourite books. Based on this and the nostalgia it stirred in me I ordered the book. Suffice to say I really enjoyed it, a lot. I have seen negative reviews and I understand why some people have said what they have however I'm really happy with the nostalgia. I don't want to mention too much because I don't want to offer our spoilers, but that I would just really recommend this book if you are a fan of Watchers.

J. Tracy: This was my first time reading Mr. Koontz. I really enjoyed the book, and I'll be reading more by him.
However, not sure if I'll order from Amazon again. Twice the book was sent in such a large, obnoxious box without any padding, that the dust jacket was bent, tore etc and corners bent. The second time, I decided to keep it so I could read it. I am one of those people that love the stories, but I also enjoy receiving a nice clean copy of a new product I purchase. Amazon is increasingly horrible at delivering a well packaged product.

Bill C.: Koontz at his best. Particularly enjoyed the characters and how each one was introduced. The story telling shows the author has honed his skills over all the years - an excellent page turning read. Recommended for all Koontz fans.
(Does this guy like dogs?)!!!!

Thomas A. Copeland: All fans of Koontz know of his deep affection for dogs. The heart-felt assessment of their loyalty, intelligence, and honesty in this novel—and the exciting forecast of the future of the ancient human-canine relationship—excels the treatment of the subject in any of the author’s other novels I have read. It is, of course, counterbalanced by an equally powerful threat to humanity. This conflict might be suggested by the title “New World Impending,” although “Devoted” also makes sense. Koontz’s abhorrence of deceit and brutality, his distrust of what we might call “The System” or simply Corruption fuels the plot, and his persistent optimism irradiates the conclusion.
His style, although as lively and urbane as usual, does demonstrate some of his editorial weaknesses as well. He commits an occasional error of diction: “. . . she had never been completely known to him, not down to the deepest roots of her psychology. . . .” The word “psychology” means the study of the mind, not the mind itself. He is also especially wary of using the preposition “like.” He prefers wordy substitutes like “. . . clever ways to communicate, similar to what Dorothy...

Abhishek Kumar: The plot of the book is good and the pace never slow down and the characters in the story are interesting which makes it hard to put down the book however it is not the best work from the author. Recommended.

Yvonne - The coycaterpillar Reads: Devoted was a hard book to read in places. It was mostly successful in the theme of genetic mutation. I really enjoy Dean Koontz books but, in this occasion, it was neither a favourite or one that I disliked. It’s very much a book that gets very strange, very quickly. It’s a case of constantly reminding yourself that this is SCI-FI. I’ve noticed other reviewers likening it to Koontz’ other work – The Watchers, which I haven’t read, not sure if that is to my detriment or not? The book to me, felt like it just moved too slowly, and I did feel myself getting bored.
The story in Devoted focusses around Woody Bookman, an autistic child, super genius that is limited by his inability to speak. He lost his father three years previously and has compiled an expose on how killed his father through the means of hacking within the dark web. He plans to hand this over to his mother before events take a walk-through crazy town and my brain wants to give up at multiple different points. One of my problems with Devoted is the amount of characters that we are introduced to, it’s not really what I had come to expect from Koontz.
Now I get that Devoted is largely a science...
