Dr. Allison Mayo: This was an easy read/listen (Kindle/Audible). You can’t go wrong with a a romantic plot and a dog in the same book.

Gypsy Dancer: This was a very heartwarming story and it kept me going all throughout the book. I loved the characters and felt every emotion that they did. The writing was so good that I felt I was right there in the book. Easy reading and great story development. Loved it.

Nancy: Good storyline but the conflict with Marco could have used a bit more detailed drama lasting a bit longer. Otherwise good character development and plot.

Kindle Customer c.brinkman: What a sweet and funny story. A refreshing change from shoot-em-up and psychological thrillers. Just burrow into your favorite pillow, sigh contentedly and enjoy a delightfully clean story. I liked the story had a sprinkling of mysticism and of course Andrea is so lucky to have a friend like Jade. I'm checking to see if there are more novels by this author.

lauren: I don't usually read romance novels, but was attracted to this novel because of the dog picture on the cover. I am a dog lover and I know the impact a dog makes in a person's life, and how painful it is to lose a dog.
The main characters were very likable and the antagonists were very unlikable.
The story flows beautifully, and, the chapters alternate between the two main characters.
The story is built around the little dog, Anni, who makes an impact on everyone who comes in contact with her.
I give this a 5 star, because I enjoyed it so much, and I appreciate that there was no swearing, violence, or sex in it.

Aoife: When Dan loses his wife, his dog Anni is a big factor in helping him and his daughter pull through their grief. When Anni gets stolen, it's hard for Dan to accept she's gone and he doesn't want to give up on her. Andrea is healing from a painful divorce when she saves Anni from an apartment of young men not treating her right, and soon discovers a dog can be a girl's best friend. Will Anni find Dan again, but will Andrea be able to give her up if she does?

This book was a super sweet contemporary and I throughly enjoyed it. I really liked seeing the bond between both Dan and Anni, and Andrea and Anni. Dog people are the best people, and I think I want to go to Cafe Mocha with my dogs! This was a really fast read and it could be enjoyably frustrating at times when Dan came so close to finding Anni again and again. I did like the ending overall, though I do think a lot of stuff got summed up very quickly in the last chapter, and I feel like there could have been more done. I also think there would have been room for a nice sequel to this that could have ended up with the proposal and a wedding starring Anni as ring bearer obviously

tiggrie AKA Sarah: This is one of the most sickly sweet books I've read in ages.

Anni, the dog, is about the only character who didn't make me want to reach through the page to strangle her, the rest of them need a good slap.

All of this is made worse because, apparently, McQuestion is of the school of thought of why bother with plot when you can use coincidence instead? There are innumerable instances of unlikely connections - people who just happen to bridge the gap between two people - and on the other hand, the number of times our hero and heroine 'nearly' meet is absurd. Oh, and this absolutely shameless passage:

"If this were in a book or movie, people would say it was too much, that it was contrived and way too convenient..."

*headdesk* pullease. If you feel the need to write this sentence in your book to excuse your plot, then you need to rewrite it.

The characters are on the whole an unlikeable bunch. We are supposed to feel sorry for them for the bad luck they've had in life, but it would be easier if they were actually likeable. The author tells us they're good, nice people, but telling doesn't overcome the way she shows how they're quite a shallow,...
