Amazon Customer: Light is exactly as described and performs well.We are using it in a 20 gallon hex when we found out we could not replace the bulb in the Petsmart hood. Am thinking of buying another. Thanks!

Cowboy Dan: The 6in light is good (not excellent, but definitely good) for a 10gal tank with minimal plants when mounted on the end.

The mount clips to the edge of the rim of the rimmed tank (probably won't work on a rimless tank), keeping the light above the water for all but the highest (and probably very close to overflowing) water levels. This is a good thing. If the light were to be submerged, I suspect it would be bordering on too bright, especially if it were to be pointed at the main viewing area of the tank.

The switch is much nearer to the light than the power supply, which in my case is a good thing.

With the switch left on, I can switch this light on and off with a master switch on the power strip. This is a MUST for me.

I would like it to be just a little brighter. Maybe 10-15% more light.
I know some people would probably say that would be too much light, so maybe put a control on it with resolution down to 5 or 10% increments.

miriam young: These lights are actually bright!! I was hesitant because it said up to 15 gallon tank and I have a 20. Well I’m soo glad I took that chance!! I will be buying this brand of lights again for my fish tank when I need another replacement.

Tatt2edtears06Tatt2edtears06: I bought Tetra hoods that came with LED light strings that attached in the top of the hood but was sad when finding out they do not sell replacement lights for this product so when they went out I was fored to find another solution. I have 5 fishtanks with three of them having this issue, a 10 gallon and two 55 gallon tanks. I decided to buy only one of these Tetra Hidden LED stick Light so that I could try it out before buying a few to put in all my tanks. I was very pleased! I did hold it over my 55 to see how much light was displayed into the tank and though this particular light says that it only works for tanks up to 15 gallons it shined enough light to light up half of my 55 nicely. I think I will buy two to put one on each side and that it will work great for my 55's. At first I thought the clip was way too hard to clip on to the back of then tank but then I realized you don't have to clip it on to the tank completely but simply clip to the plastic lip that goes around the top of the tank. That was easy and I ended up not needing the two extra clips because the tank was so small that the cord could just go straight out the back. One of the only issues I had was that I could...
