T-fal Deep Fryer with Removable Basket for Easy Cleaning

Laura Cattell: Pros: Fries great, able to clean oil, heats up fast and the fry basket is a good size. I love everything about it other than the cord length and the handle not folding on the outside of the unit. Cons: Cord is short. Cannot use on my island. Had to use heavy duty extension cord (contractors grade). Otherwise, i had to use on counter under cabinets and I don't want that steam coming from the vent to damage them. One other thing is that it says it has a foldable handle. The only way I see to fold the handle is if you fold it into the fryer which puts the handle in the grease. So I had to remove it and clean it and store it separately with the cord. I replaced my older TFAL deep fryer that I've had for over 15 years. The handle on that one folded down on the outside of the unit. I still gave it 5 stars because it's an amazing fryer.

BLD: Bigger than my old one which makes me happy and sad at the same time. However, the old one just could not cook much. This can, has accurate controls and the oil storage is nice. Yes, you need to pay attention to all the cautions other have written. Be careful, do not overheat, place on a stable surface, let cool when finished, read the instructions and you'll be fine. If that is all too much, than get out the 10qt dutch oven, a bunch of oil, a thermometer and have at it.

Casey: Who needs fried food? No one. Who wants it? ME!

I bought this for one purpose: corn dogs. And it was a huge success. Sure I could have use a pot like an average person, but I much preferred dishing out the $130 (though as I write this it's now $102...unfortunate) for a fun frilator for all my unnecessary and unhealthy cooking.

It's super simple to use, provided you know how to turn it on. There is this stupid little button and you bet I was staring at this thing for 20 odd minutes waiting for it to heat up before I realized I never hit the button... But once you figure that out, it's a breeze! It heats up quickly and just does it's job.

It's not wicked deep so you won't be frying huge items, but corn dogs, chicken tenders, fish, fried oreos(!), etc. will do great.

Oh and definitely follow the max fill line. I disregarded because I clearly know more than the manufacturer and that was a bit of a whoopsies. Apparently it has more to do with the filtering process because the filter bucket where all the clean oil can only hold so much...live and learn!

Is it necessary? Absolutely not.
Was it worth it? 100%

Amazon Customer: I was a little hesitant about how well the oil filtration system would work. But after ten uses I can confidently say it works great. This one feature has totally changed how much work and money is involved in deep fat frying at home. I was able to get 10 frying sessions using the same oil (with a little added in each time) because of it. Cleaning the unit was extremely easy and could be done in a matter of minutes.

It heats fast and maintains temperature well. The temperatures were also fairly accurate. I used an instant read thermometer to check the temp against what the dial on the unit said.

My only negative thing to say is that the frying oil is a little bit shallow. I could see medium to large pieces or chicken not getting totally submerged if I were to make fried chicken. But it is plenty deep to make several portions of wings, fries, tater tots, cheese sticks, onion rings or chicken nuggets at a time. All things I’ve tried.

I would highly recommend this product.

Amazon Customer: I have only used this deep fryer six times and only for french fries, the design is great, not having to mess around with the oil was a big selling point, but the results are always the same, no matter what amount of fries you cook and no matter how long you cook them they never get golden and crispy, the maximum temperature is 374 degrees which just doesn't get the job done. I guess I will try frying some other foods and see what happens, but if like me you want crispy fries don't spend over $200 on this product.

Amazon Customer: After watching my husband start a fire with a frying pan doing fries, this was a must!!!! I purchased it used, so no instructions came. It took a try or two to figure things out, (Long story) but ever since that first startup, this is a winner. My hubby loves it, can carry it outside to do his cooking and with ease change the oil when the time is right.
Great purchase, great price, and ease of mind for me.
