James DowJames Dow: After nearly six years my old Ottomanson / Sweethome Stores stair treads needed replacement to insure maximum non-slip for when my 2-year old grandson came to visit. I still had around 7 unused old treads that I wanted to match to keep my needs/expenses to a minimum. Following some wrong matching guesses on my part, I called Sweethome Stores. They worked with me, located some old warehouse stock matching my old stair treads and arranged to pull and send them to me. They arrived and were a perfect match to my existing treads.   With the non-skid bottoms, they do not shift. They look good and protect my wood stairs. Most importantly, they provided protection for my grandson and help my dog overcome her fear of stairs.    My old treads were still in good condition, so I washed them one more time, allowed them to dry completely and packed them away. A. American Woman: Bought last yr 4 wooden steps our little Shih Tzu was slipping on (after a remodel) & they've held up GREAT! They wash EASILY but instructions say don't put in dryer. Well, I was very ill last week (not virus thank God!) & hubby washed them & dried them. They lost some color but the strangest part is they cling to our socks after being n the dryer. So I'm here to order 2 sets (just in case my hubby 4gets again - as I'd told him every time I washed them "can't go in dryer." Love our hubby's, but sometimes I think us ladies talk so much they learn to tune us out. Ha!🤣 Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend these! Until they got dried they looked brand new from last August, 2019 til hubby washed them this last wk, June 2020. Know if you don't dry them they'll last YEARS!!🙂

T Murphy: This was a great purchase for me as it solved the problem with hurt feet going down hard wood stairs. It also made my stairs looked much nicer. There is not any adhesive but does pretty much stay in place. It moves slightly but readjusting isn't a problem and it is easy to lift up to clean the stairs. If you wanted them to stick to the stairs then a rug adhesive tape from Home Depot would do the job.

He sleeps in the bedroom with us upstairs, so I would have to carry him up and down the stairs every time he needed to go to the bathroom. He was already 21 pounds at 8 weeks, so I knew I couldn't keep doing that for long. I bought these and as I placed them on the stairs he immediately began climbing up. Climbing down took a little bit of coaxing, but five minutes of training with treats and he was an expert! I was surprised to see how well they stay put without any adhesive. These are definitely a worthwhile investment for dogs!

stephanie Ingersoll: I have a 14 year old dog who has hip problems and he was slipping going up and down the wood steps that lead to our sunken living room. I originally purchased a couple of rubberized type door mats from the home improvement store, but he refused to walk on them. My husband and I also didn't like walking on them because they hurt our feet.

After reading several reviews from different types of stair rugs, we decided on this set because the color would match our floors, they were soft and they wouldn't slip around.

I have had them a couple of weeks and we all love them including the dog. They provide great cushion and they don't slip around. They will get a bit dislodged but they have never slipped when I was walking on them. The best description is stair shaped bath mats. We originally got them for the dog, but we are really enjoying the cushion they provide on bare feet. I wouldn't say they are decorative, but I wanted something that would blend in, not stand out. If you have dogs or kids slipping on your stairs, give these a try before buying an expensive set.
