Savannah PattersonSavannah Patterson: These stair carpets are really great. They have great grip where they do not shift or move when walking. Easy to cut with scissors to customize any size and shape of your stairs. They do not fray when you cut them. Very durable and adds a nice touch to your stairs.

namzovnamzov: Bought another set after a few years of heavy traffic with multiple dogs. They held up well and are easy to clean/vacuum. The pics of these are the new ones and are a couple years old.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: I have used these stair treads for 6 years on one high-use stairway which leads to both the primary bedroom suite and the office area. We started using them due to an aging pet that had traction issues. I keep a box on hand for replacements. I just opened my third box to replace 3 that were very worn and it took about 15 minutes. The treads do not come with adhesive, I would recommend a high quality double sided carpet adhesive tape. I run a piece of tape along the bottom and top of the tread and cut a curve on the ends of the tape to get as close to the corners of the tread as possible to prevent the corners from lifting with use. The wooden stair treads have remained unharmed even with periodic replacements. The treads will not last forever but they hold up to everyday wear and tear well and I recommend them. The color-quality on my orders has been nicely consistent thru the years.

Erica: I bought these because one of my 12 year old chihuahuas has slipped on the stairs and hurt her shoulder 3 times now. These have been fabulous, not only for her, but for us too! I didn't realize how slippery our wooden stairs were until I installed these. We are all a lot safer now. I bought these because of the adhesion. I didn't want to put nails, glue or 2-sided tape on the wood. Although the adhesive strips don't look like much and don't feel very sticky to the hand, they really work! Once properly installed they stay put and yet come up easily when necessary with out much residue and no damage to the stairs. Your stairs must have a smooth surface. Make sure your stairs are clean and dry - no dirt, dust or dog hair. Put them down carefully, one at a time. It helps to know exactly how far from the sides and front & back you want them to be. You might mark your measurements with a bit of painters tape. Either put them down starting on one side smoothing them down to the other, or from the middle out, making sure you put slight tension on them as you lay them down and then press them in place. If they are bent or curved from shipping and won't...

KBtheSafetyGuy: I had to trim a bit off each tread as my stairs have nosing moulding on them and the treads would not fit otherwise. They don't move if there is pressure on them (stepping on them) and seem to stay in place. I did not check the durability rating as I have only had them in place for a few weeks. One point to note, the pattern is slightly crooked in relation to the actual stair tread cut. It makes trimming using the pattern/weave a bit difficult but certainly not a deal breaker. I would order these again.

Keninca: 10 MONTH UPDATE: I still love them for the traction dry feet can get on the stairs. I used 2 small (1") sticky side out loops of blue painters tape to secure them to the treads. Now they stay nicely in place and I'm not constantly messing their alignment after a pass up or down the stairs.

I've had these for a week now. I was a little worried about if I was going to need some tape and if they would be slippery while stepping on it. But, like others have said, when your weight's on it it grips the tread solidly so I have no fear of these slipping out from under me when I am going up or down the stairs in the dark in the middle of the night. However, I do find they move about a bit if you're not careful to lift your weightless foot completely up before you move it forward. I don't see it as a safety hazard, more of a cosmetic one as I'm constantly fiddling with them to re-center them on the steps. I don't want to do anything to the finish of the stairs so maybe I'll use some painter's tape to keep them still.

They are thin, and the carpeting runs across them in stripes with about 1/2 inch of thin carpeting and then 1/4 inch of even thinner...
