urwrstnitemare: This was EZ to set up and install to block our cats from getting into the kitchen.
HOWEVER ... it would be great if there were something included to block the sides (yes, I know it's for kids, but many of us bought it for pets - our version of "kids").

LibbyLibby: Needed a wider than average (48" opening) gate on the front porch to keep a large dog from eating the Amazon driver (he hates him for some reason!) The gate was easy to install (pressure mounted). Trust the process, because it really does look like the door won't close until you get it all together. I shook it really hard and it is very sturdy. If you're concerned about the sturdiness, I would install with the hardware provided. The dog actually hasn't touched it or jumped on it yet so I think just having a see-through barrier there does the trick. Happy to have found this cost-efficient option!

Taylor ItkinTaylor Itkin: The pros: These gates are exactly what I needed, which was 2 gates to keep my new dog away from our doorway and out of the kitchen. They're relatively easy to install, if a bit time consuming to install solo. If I had another person helping, I'm sure it would've been much easier and much quicker. I ordered 2 gates, and was happy to discover that the extensions are able to be taken from one set and added onto another if necessary. Our kitchen entryway was small enough to only need the small extension, but our entryway was wide enough to need an extra large extension, and I took it from the second gate and it fits perfectly. The gates close easily, aren't loud (unless you let them swing closed on their own), are quite tall, sturdy, and support the weight of my 38 lb dog when she jumps and leans on them. They're easy to open and we can do so with one hand if necessary.

The cons: The adhesive pads for the wall cups are quite strong. This would be a good thing, however they tore paint off of the wall when I needed to reposition the gate and therefore the wall cup. I also had to run to the store to get new mounting tape, as the gates do not come with any extra adhesive pads. The...

Amazonbuyer: I actually purchased this gate to keep my cats from a certain area of the house that people still need regular access to. There is a door frame around the entry to this area (built as an option to put a door later), there is no actual door. I ordered this particular gate due to its height, in hopes that if was tall enough, the cats would not jump over. While there are some cats who could probably figure out how to jump high enough to get over it, my two are not "jumpers", so....knocking on wood....so far, so good.

My entry frame is pretty narrow, so I only needed the one slim piece on the side, and not any of the extra pieces included for wider doors. Those are in the box and put away in case I do ever move this to a wider entry point in another part of the house.

Because this is being used for cats, I did NOT screw the holder pieces meant to go into the door frame to help keep the gate more child safe / secure. That is optional in case one decides to use this as a temporary block. If I did have children, I would definitely screw those pieces in. However, for my needs, I like the temporary option. The gate still fits very securely into the entry, it has not budged AT...

Vivian Lee: It’s a good quality gate, no sharp edge (I have tried other brands that require sanding cuz it will cut my baby’s fingers).

The installation is easy, fit perfectly. But this gate only open on direction and it is not easy to open it. I would say it’s good in a way that no way my child can open the gate, but then I won’t be able to hold my child while opening the gate as it requires two hands to open and lift up the gate to open it.

Overall I am happy with the gate. At least I don’t have to sand or worry about my child getting hurt.
