trippypea: Took a few to get it set up right because we needed to shorten it by 1 panel. I bought it to block off an area for my crazy Yorkie. Looks very nice and each panel locks in place so you don't have that wobble when kids or dog push on it. Well worth it.

kim sadich: I love the sturdiness of it, not some lightweight crap material. I bought it to put in front of our banister, the spindles are too far spaced and we have a 4 month old. The size was perfect, the gate functions wonderfully have it attached to the wall and we just put a few cable ties around it and the spindles, there is no way we have to worry about the baby knocking it over moving it to get through the spindles and falling in stairwell. So happy with it. would buy again.

Peace doula: We have used this baby gate for several years and it's held up with no issues. We have never bolted to a wall and can stand alone depending on the configuration. It's got some weight to it but that's why its sturdy and still easy to fold up and move around. We liked it so much we ordered a larger one for our garden area to keep the grand pups out of it and does a fantastic job.

DickersDickers: 4 years from original purchase date: the gate is still up and functioning just as it did day one. We are moving soon and the new buyers asked if we would leave it for them. I’d say that’s a solid statement that the new owners of this house want it to stay. It’s now theirs, so there will not be a 5 year update, but I’m sure there could be, this is one of the best products I’ve ever purchased from Amazon.

2 YEAR OWNERSHIP UPDATE: It’s about to be two years since I installed this gate to create a playroom for my little ones. Everything in my original review stands and can say that this gate is still as sturdy, functional, and mechanically sound as it was the day I installed it. You will definitely get your money’s worth out of this product.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I purchased this to gate off a room to turn into a playroom for my little one. As you can see from my picture, I mounted this going straight across an open area. I mounted it at both ends to the studs and added a support piece on each side just for my own peace of mind.

Alexandria: I love this gate. Although first I must mention, the color states "bronze" a lot of other people have mentioned it's like a chocolate Brown, I don't know if I got s different one but the color of the one I recieved is black. I would have preferred a Brown, but it is definitely a black!

Anyway, I got the gate because I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old that needed to be kept out of the kitchen to keep (my newly walking and getting into everything 1yo) away from the dog dishes and garbage can. I needed a gate that would work with a 76 inch opening and I chose this one not only because it could be made into a play yard, but also when we move in the future the extra inches were nice incase we move to a home with a bigger opening that needs to be closed off.

My fiancé got it together in less than 10 min and since he left the drill at my mother's house it's currently not drilled in to the wall but is still amazingly sturdy and hasn't budged even with my freakishly strong 3yo trying to climb and push it, as well as me getting used to it and bumping into it (hard) quite a few times!
