David & JoDavid & Jo: I was so impressed with the performance of this water heater. After installing, I tested by running 2 sinks and a shower at once. It kept up with water with no issues. We very rarely use that amount of water at once, but if we do, we'll be covered.

Not sure on longevity since it was just installed, but so far so good and we love it.

Maura: I bought this unit 2 years ago, and it's been a dream. Takes up so little space, is quiet, and we really only have a problem in the shower if we have laundry going at the same time which is easy enough to remember not to do. The electrician we hired to install had never seen a tankless before (small town) and he scoffed at how high our energy bills would be based on the electrical intake because he didn't understand how these things work. I have wanted an excuse to install one of these since living overseas years ago and did my research and this one sounded like the most promising. We have only had one issue, it was due to improper re-install by a contractor who had to disconnect the unit for wall repairs and he wasn't careful with the wires. The customer service from Stiebel was so astounding, I figured I'd have to pay for the replacement part but they still covered it under warranty, shipped it out same day, and we received it very soon after. We were able to replace the part ourselves and have not had any other issues since. I know when the time comes for a new unit down the road we will be sticking with this brand for sure!

Harold L. DuBoseHarold L. DuBose: Constant hot water, replaced an 80 gallon tank. Installed myself, added a 125 amp sub panel to my 200 amp panel . It will supply hot water for my two bathrooms and washer running no problem. Have it set at 112 degrees f. I have the 29 Tempra plus, I think the tank water heaters are going to disappear, it looked like they are already disappearing when I was looking for one and decided to go tankless. I had a slow leak on water tank so I was able to tee in and back out if needed. Time will tell for longevity, so far it would be my choice if I had to change out, no regrets so far.

INSTALL NOTE - I am not a plumber and this stretched my mechanical DIY-er mentality, but I did install this on my own: be careful if you choose to install this on your own. I chose NOT to do the electrical upgrade required on my own - the risk of not getting that right was too high, so I paid my electrical contractor to upgrade the box for the 3 x 50 amp breakers - NO REGRETS!

I knew my 55 gal standard electric water heater was not going to last much longer due to the units age AND the fact our local city water is awful with calcium and build up. I researched the available setups and units ad nauseum, and went with this unit: the brand recognition and reputation, the size due to our house and expectation that we will eventually sell it. When I bought this unit, it was one of the larger of its type and was actually cheaper than if I went with a standard water heater to match the one I was getting rid of.

First, the drop in electric usage has about paid for 50% of the unit cost over the last year - yeah, THAT MUCH! Results will vary I am sure, but its just my wife and I in 2200 sq ft house, so the fact it runs "on demand" just makes sense....

C. Fontaine: I live in a mobile home, not a lot of space. The 29kW work well for on shower and 2 sinks and free extra space for storage. Be aware to buy the right one, you will be disapointeed (I try a 18kW, is not enough). I live in Quebec City, lower than 29Kw will not do the job. Water is 4 celcius in winter.

Manuel C.: I have a normal 60 Gallon hot water tank and I have to change it because it was very old I buy this Stiebel Eltron Tankless Water Heater it looks beautiful and easy to install but I have a problem it gives me the water or too HOT or too COLD I send an email to the company and they answer me fast from Germany and they give me a contact in Montreal Canada I get a call from that person here in Montreal I explain to him, look my Stiebel Tankless give me the water or to Hot or too COLD I don’t have the "normal" hot water and he told me the problem is not the machine but my Shower, my faucets I told him they are ALL NEW I did a renovation in the house and I change everything but he insists to tell me what is the problem my ALL plumb equipment it is no sense so people be aware, Also I fallow the wire and circuit breakers reccomended by Stiebel and I have one breaker in the middle heater go off all the time I change the breakers twice but still do it, after that ANY emails I send to HQ and the US I have NO ANSWERS they abandon me completly for the last week, I am against buy from China but one thing they have VERY GOOD is, they answer fast and take care of you...
I don't have this...
