Pat: I had gone away from this series for a while but recently picked up where I left off. This installment is awesome with much interaction between Stephanie and Ranger. He’s more communicative than usual. I enjoyed the customary mishaps of Stephanie and Lula but also liked Raymond as a side character.

Kindle Customer: Lots of fun, qwerky characters. However, the main character, Stephanie Plum, is basically a clueless train wreck. She's self-admittedly not good at her job, her mom does her laundry and she has two men in her life that she can't choose between, one of which just refers to her as "Babe". It seems she can't function without both men to protect her. The main character should be a bit stronger.

Sam: I had read up to number 27 in the series, because I had read reviews for later books mentioning how disappointed they were in this edition.
So after enjoying number 26, although not overly impressed, I thought I would give this one a go, and was pleasantly surprised as I enjoyed this a lot more.
Yes, Stephanie is still going between Ranger and Morelli, she is still destroying cars, worrying about money, eating badly, her gran turns up, but not much thank goodness, and stephanie is no further in trying enhance her career.
However, there are some truly hilarious moments such as fight between Lula and one of the Deli workers involving a Ketchup bottle and a spatula, also a catnapping episode.
I always like the quirky FTAs also and do not mind the repetition of her lifestyle.
It works, the familiarity of Stephanie's world feels comfortable and I don't want her to suddenly get married, or work in an office or something.
The madness of the characterisations amuses, me and this book was funnier than usual.
I liked the Deli staff and I didn't really care about the cannibal references, as they were too fleeting to matter.

Lynn LeBlanc: Reading these brings me back to my childhood and teenage years when I used to read comic books and got familiar with certain characters. Every few months, I feel like I miss these characters and settle into the old Jersey neighbourhood vibe ...:)

Good2Go: First thoughts: this book was a bit of a hot mess. There were parts that didn't make sense and it felt like it was rushed, or it read that way to me. However, I do appreciate Janet Evanovich letting Stephanie stay at a different job for a while. I believed the set up that the bond office had gotten the deli as payment. So this part was interesting and it read like Stephanie enjoyed the rhythm of the work as a manager. Just as Stephanie hates monotony (and monogamy) I hate that it's just sometimes the same thing over and over for Stephanie. I like that she got to try something different.
The whole kissing Ranger when she's with Morelli--I have to ask if Janet Evanovich has written herself into a corner?
There was only one or two jokes that were really funny, but most of it was sick, like Lula kept repeating. There was an idea of a show where the diners of a cafe eat people. A man's appendage on a hot dog roll shows up on a flash drive. This part felt really dark. I couldn't actually believe I was reading it in a Janet Evanovich book at that stage. The Cannibal Cafe made me feel sick to my stomach.
