Sjb: I ordered this, although it cost more than I wanted to spend, because I need a fan that can easily be cleaned. It came and it looked good. I have a table fan by the same company that I like so I was hoping this would be similar. I need to put a fan by the a/c vent and blow air up into the room and the table fan does not rotate up and down.

The screw on the bottom was so tight I had to get assistance from a family member to loosen it. That is actually rather common problem today. I think they are putting screws in with machines and way too tight for just average people to easily take off.

Then, I don’t know if the grill was on exactly right, or maybe it got bent by that tight screw, but the tabs were stuck down tight. We had to use pliers and bent one of the tabs, but it’s still functional. I can not get all the tabs back down all the way now, which is why I think the pieces were bent and the screw may not have been placed correctly. I am not sure if I got one that was sent back by someone else, but I suspect that is the case.

Anyway, the grill stays on without that screw and the tabs partially down, so I guess I am going to keep it. I wish I could’ve...

J'aime Morgaine: For such a small fan, it has great wind power (without being overly loud).

The fan comes out of the box already assembled, with the tightening handle attached with a wire. For people (like me) who who don't read the instructions provided with the fan, the knob looking thing is to loosen/tighten the swivel bolts on the sides of the fan; I keep mine attached so that it's immediately available when needed.

The swivel" is a great feature to adjust wind direction, and it's been stable no matter where the fan has been "swiveled. " It is small enough to sit on a table, but also works from the floor. It could be attached to a wall, but there is no remote function, and the on/off is on the back of the fan, so wall mount use could be a hassle (unless it's always on).

The wire cage has narrow gaps to help create a safer barrier for small fingers, and there is a wire handle for safe relocating while the fan is on.

Overall, this is a solid fan, and good value for the price.
