JMac: This has to be the easiest install out there. It was truly a plug and play system. Programming instructions were super simple. Saved a couple hundred dollars over the dealer install and it took less than an hour to complete.

Alexander: 15-20 mins to install, worked the first time, will have to see how well it holds up. Based on other reviews it seems like it will last for awhile. Bought for a 2017 Toyota 4Runner, it will keep running if you open the tailgate, but any other door it will shut off, no big deal just FYI. Does take longer than an OEM, but again no big deal. I go out in the morning to smoke turn it on walk inside get me and my three dogs ready for our morning trip to the park. By then the engine is warm enough to be fully warmed up by the short drive to the park, or it turns off after the 15 min timer when we are getting out the door. Either way no big issues, compared to the convenience of having a warmed up vehicle. Plus the added benefit of using OEM smart key, no extra key fobs. Absolutely worth the money, highly recommended.

RAS: I installed this on a 2019 4Runner and it works perfectly! Everything about this kit is high quality, and reasonably priced as well. I probably spent an hour doing the install from viewing the instructional video to hitting the start button. Everything fit nicely in place, programing is simple and it all just works! Highly recommend.

Phong TranPhong Tran: This module is a true plug and play. It’s easy to install and program. 20 minutes install for my 2013 Toyota Sienna PTS and works as it’s supposed with 3x lock on OEM FOBs.
However it does not work with the RF kit RFK942 due to firmware issue. RF kit was connected to Start-X T-harness with RF kit BLUE connector and programmed successfully and worked only on the first day - both remotes stopped working after 24 hrs. I purchased the RFA2A wire kit and made some modifications on the Black connector for the RF kit and programmed successfully. Again RF kit remotes stopped working after 24 hrs. Start-X insisted RF kit needs a firmware update. RF kit seller insisted Start-X protocol is not compatible with the Fortin RF kit and needs to be updated. Who’s right and who’s wrong? No one has provided further support to make it work.
Bottom line: Start-X doesn’t work with Fortin RF Kit RFK942 due to incorrect firmware loaded on the Start-X module.
Edited: I had to purchase the Fortin Flashlink Updater to find out that the RFK942 antenna firmware was at the latest version 1.05 and the Start-X module recommended firmware was not loaded. After updating the firmware on the...

Melisa C.Melisa C.: Oohkay, the start-x kit worked perfectly, super easy install. Adding on the rfk942 kit was a different story to my 2018 Sienna se. First off, download guide 69541 from fortin. This guide is what you need. Follow the instructions for the "t harness" wiring setup... Except the black Datalink plug will not fit. You need to cut off the two raised bars on the plug for it to fit. Once that is set up follow the programming as per the guideline and it works perfectly. The lights all work the same way as in the guide. See my photos for how to cut the plugm make sure it's connected with the cut side facing just how the photo is.
