Chris: The base is a good weight so it doesn’t fall over. The little stand doesn’t really do much but it’s not in the way.

JB: This is a fine paper towel holder. Several people wrote comments about how it was "too tall" and looked odd the way the metal sticks up above the roll of paper towels. That concerned me when purchasing. However, it is fine. Yes, the metals sticks up two inches above the roll but that does not look odd to me and for the price this is a great, sturdy paper towel holder that looks fine on my kitchen counter.

Kristina: It's true that the pole on this is much taller than standard paper towel holders, but I still really love it. We had an OXO brand before, and the plastic revolving pole in the center was cheap and broke while trying to clean it. This paper towel holder is heavy, simple, and stylish. Plus, I love the little arm that helps prevent the towels from blowing all over the place when we've got our fans cranking. No complaints!
