This is super sturdy and the weighted bottom keeps it from tipping or sliding on the counter when you pull a paper towel off. Easy to change rolls, just a simplw push button on top and then slide the roll on. Love that it fits mega rolls too.
Great quality purchase and definitely glad I bought it.

My husband purchased a papertowel holder with an arm from the Hardware store that was solid & worked really well. I was too lazy to go to the hardware store & instead ordered two form Amazon. Every part of this holder is good & sturdy except the arm that holds the papertowels down for easy tearing.
I believe that this particular one is defective because the arm on the 2nd one of my order sits straight. However, the one my husband purchased from the hardware store has a better, wider, sturdier arm than the one from Amazon.
I felt bad returning both holders to Amazon, so I will keep one & return the defective one.

I read reviews on this product and was hesitant to purchase because of the arm issue. I ordered it because of the color. I needed a black one and this color was hard to find. The towel holder is very heavy and sturdy on the counter top. Doesn't move or wobble. However the arm piece (tension piece) that is designed to tear the paper towel is very weak. I have had this holder for one day and already the arm piece has come off twice. I'm not sure how much patience I have to deal with this before it may need to be replaced. If you are looking for a particular color like black then give it a try but if you can use a different color I would recommend going with a more durable product.

I have gone through a dozen paper towel holders over the past 20 years and this one is by far the best. And its because it is the heaviest paper towel holder I have ever come across. They weren't lying when they said it weighs 3.5lbs. The best rated paper towel holder by a famed "American Kitchen Tester company" T V show had their winning paper towel holder come in at approximately 2.5lbs. And I have that one two! Its good. But this one improves on that by weighing more and the tension arm has a higher spring rating. And it is considerably cheaper.
