JohnC: First, the good. Operation is smooth and quiet. easy to program the travel limits.

Now for the bad. My 4 year old granddaughter could have drawn clearer installation illustrations with a set of crayons. The assembled unit was a bit too long for my garage. A ceiling support pole was in the way. I had to cut one of the rail pieces. That meant I also had to shorten the chain. Ugh!! It was extremely annoying and time consuming.

I've installed garage door openers in my house and my kids' houses. This was by far, the most annoying, and time consuming installation of any I did previously. Operation ultimately was OK. Getting there, however, was less than pleasant.

Mandy M: Make sure you watch all the installation videos. Makes the process so simple.
Installed 1 month ago and love it. We have had 0 issues.
Pros- extremely quiet. I mean EXTREMELY. Which is great since our kiddos bedroom is directly over the garage.
Remote works from a good distance away
Raises and lowers with no struggle. We have a large metal insulated double garage door.
Cons- the guide rail isn’t solid. It’s pieces hooked together. I could see this wearing out eventually, but time will tell

Will update if it breaks or we experience issues. No update means it’s still working like charm.

Old Frog: The SkyLink garage door opener was fairly easy to install. I used the videos that were suggested, to do the installation. The videos weren't exactly matching the model that I bought but still worked well. I had to install some wood blocks to mount the safety photo-eyes on, as the tracks of my garage door were too large to clip the Photo-eye brackets on as shown in the instructions. I also found it a bit unclear on connecting the control wiring as the video gave the wrong colors of the wires and wasn't clear enough that the plastic cover should be in place before the connection and setup is done.

I was very impressed on how smoothly and quietly the opener, with the DC motor, worked. The opener handled my 16 foot wide door with no problems even though it is physically much smaller than my old opener that was removed from service.

This opener was the most economical, for the size I needed, that I could find on Amazon; and also it didn't have the WIFI connection and control that I did NOT want or need.

The remotes are easy to set up and have very good operating range. This opener works GREAT and will save you several dollars on the...

GH: Our garage door is old and heavy, but this tiny DC-motor opener opens it very easily while keeping a constant speed. Only when it closes the door, it seems to slow down before the door hits the ground. The assembly was easy, requiring very few screws. In fact, the help video was outdated as the model I received had even less assembly steps and needed less screws. The only step that I struggled with was the attachment of the steel-wire to the bike-chain. I had to open up the tention part, which will later pull the two edges together, to the very end of its travel and use every little extender that came with the product. But the best thing is how easy it is to train the opener to the right force up and down, as well as the two travel end points. It is basically completely automatic. With the old (2011) opener that i have on another garage door, it took me hours to tinker with the four force and stop limits turn-knobs after adding a thicker rubber piece at the bottom of the door, leading to a new close position. Kevin Below: Easy installation, although I did elect finally to replace everything, not just the motor. The new chain is actually half chain, half cable, and that reduces the noise of operation.
I love the LED light.
The force adjustment went awry when ice formed on the floor, so I chipped it off and recalibrated the force, and now all is well again.

It's-Tea-Time: I bought this garage door opener because 1) The price is fantastic! And 2) The reviews were good.
It did not disappoint! This item was delivered to me in about a week. (Note - the box it comes in weighs about 35 pounds so bring your car with you to the post office!)
All of the pieces required to install this garage door opener were included. The instructions were straight forward and my husband and I were able to install this system in just a couple of hours (and still liked each other afterwards, yay!)
This unit is very small, about half the size of my previous garage door opener. It lifts my double door no problem. The remote that comes with it is small and can either go on your visor in your car or can attach to your key chain. It is quite sensitive - I have a very long driveway and it works from the bottom of the driveway with no issues.
This garage door opener is VERY quiet. It is quite a bit slower than my last garage door opener, but it is also less "jerky" which I believe will put less wear and tear on it in the long run. The LED light goes on automatically when you push the button and it is VERY bright.

BenBen: I've had this garage door opener for just about a month, so far it's been running well.

When I first opened the box, I was surprised by how small the unit is and wondered whether this is strong enough to open my garage door, a 2-car garage. The installation was not too bad, took me and my buddy about 3.5 hours, including removing the old unit and putting this one up. The online installation video is very helpful, we didn’t look at the manual much and mainly followed the installation video on Youtube.

One thing that really surprise me is how quiet it runs. The older unit was a Chamberlain chain drive and I was expecting something similar, but with this Skylink opener, I could barely hear the motor, I now hear the noise coming from the rollers, hinges.

Built-in LED is good, no lamp cover and that means no need to replace the bulb, I hope the LED lasts as long as the opener. It is not as bight as the Chamberlain which as 2 light bulbs, but it is decent enough.
