C.B. S.: I used this pump to pull water from a spring that was about 75 ft from where I need water for my newly planted trees and plants. Used my Harbor Freight generator's 12VDC output for power and now I have water at the front of my place.

Laura J.: Super easy to replace my water pump. I had this brand in my RV, bought this one and it's the exact same. Replacing it was a matter of taking out 4 floor screws, removing and redoing 2 wire nuts, and unscrewing 2 water line attachments. It took about 20 minutes tops.
I would recommend even non handy people to be able to do this. Do be sure to blow out your lines with an air compressor before unattaching the water pump. Blowing out the lines was trickier than replacing the water pump. Do keep a cake pan or something handy because some water will leak out of the pump even with the water lines blown out.

John Paulding: Evidently the bypass doesn't bypass enough for some reason because this one cycles on and off with a kitchen faucet running at full and especially if running it in spray mode. Other than that, it's very quiet which was my main reason for purchasing. I'm going to stick a small accumulator on it which should fix the cycling.

The new one *was* quieter than my old one. I now can use the old one as an external pump for getting water into the trailer from outside, use as an emergency backup, etc. Figured that was worth spending the extra $20 for a whole new pump, vs. paying ~ $50-$60 for two different repair kits for the 4008 (which have had the internals revised, anyway).
The repair kits should be priced a bit cheaper, tbh, as I'm guessing more people will replace the pump, vs. the time / cost of repairing the old one. But, hey -- now I have a backup pump!
