Sheffield 12634 Field Box: Ideal for Storing Pistol, Rifle, or Shotgun Ammo

Tasha M: Purchased 2 large field boxes to try out and was not let down! The large case size holds 600 rounds of 5.56 cartridges or 8 30rd Magazines. 3 locking points give the box plenty of security and sturdy plastic would surely hinder any tampering.
I purchased 2 white ones and plan on buying a 2 more to fill with ammo and build a small emergency kit.

Stephen: This can will fit 500 rounds of 5.56mm comfortably. I like it because they're affordable, and have a metal locking latch. They're tough too: Amazon driver threw it down the stone stairs outside and it was fine.

I have several of different colours as well as a translucent one. The white is slightly see through, in the sense that you can see shadows through it, but none of the other colours are.

Keep an eye on the ads for these they tend to fluctuate wildly in price.

Brandon: So first off, I didn't buy this to use as an ammo box. I ended up using this to make a waterproof housing for the fuse box on my car. With that said, it makes a great box to use as a relocation box for a fuse box on an 05 subaru wrx. Just gotta seal the hole that is cut for wires. Ammo box wise before I cut holes in it, it seems like a good little ammo box for a range day for a pistol.

Michael Dumoulin: Plenty sturdy.Handles snap shut, and tightly. Lids fit precisely, and are well made. Air and water tight. 3 different places for locks. I have 400 rounds of 7.62 mm in each box. No where too heavy for the boxes. I love them. I Own 6 of this type now.

JimmyJimmy: This case is very versatile with its' stackable feature, locking options, and weather resistance. Like others have mentioned the weather seal or O-ring does not seal up very well. It can be removed so I plan on replacing it with something better. The case has the perfect dimensions for my battery box build. I was able to run three Dakota Lithium 10AH batteries in parallel. The box features two separate 15 Amp circuits with BlueSea circuit breakers. One circuit has two 12 Volt sockets where I can connect Usb chargers, my Viair 85P air compressor, or my 12 Volt Alpicool cooler. The other circuit has the PowerWerx Anderson PowerPole socket. From here I can connect my solar panels to recharge the battery using my solar charge controller(s). Also I have converted the Alpicool cooler adapter with an Anderson Powerpole connector. So now I can be running my cooler, recharging using solar, and still have room for charging USB devices all happening simultaneously. This is safe since these batteries are rated up to 20 Amp continuous current and the system is set up for at most 10 Amps on each battery. Its' a tight fit but it can be done.

Sunny7: Please make a larger version: Where the interior would be about 1 inch larger than paper. It would be amazing!!!

I am not using this for ammo. The locking system works great, but I need to fit larger things in it. Ex) paper, miscellaneous items. There are no locking storage containers on the market except for one's meant to stay outside which I don't want. This container is perfect. I am not trying to protect from someone stealing this, I just want to know the roommates I live with will not have access to what's inside. Thank you!!!

Also for ppl purchasing the item: The white container is translucent.

Yvan: I'm not sure if the company changed the type of sticker they use, but the two boxes I received had their sticker on the locking side and were easy to remove and did not leave any residue at all.

As another buyer said, the arctic white isn't a completely opaque white but is slightly translucent. I was also hoping for a solid white box.

Other than the slightly translucent white, both boxes seem very sturdy and are easy to stack up. The interlocking system has basically no play in it, I was pleasantly surprised.

I will certainly buy more if needed.

Zaskoda: These storage boxes are basically exactly what you would expect, and that's good. I wouldn't even bother to write a review, but I wanted to complain. Note that I gave this product 5 stars, so I still think it's good. I ordered several of these boxes in various colors. The variety in colors allows me to organize what I'm stashing and it works great for me. So what do I have to complain about? The stickers! Some of the boxes come with easy-peel stickers that come right off while others come with stickers that are impossible to cleanly remove without adhesive solvent. It's so weird that some boxes have them and other don't! But every time I get one with a hard-to-remove sticker it is super annoying.

Dave: I like the way they stack one on top of another and that they can be locked if desired.

They keep dust and rain out of the interior but can not be used to transport water unless kept upright. My dog was disappointed by this feature.

Amazon Customer: To address the paper sticker "issue": people are idiots. It is honestly not a problem. If you are having trouble taking off the sticker, 30 seconds with a hairdryer heats up the glue and it comes right off with no fuss.

Be wary of the sizing if your storing boxes of ammo as it may not fit as snug as you may want it to. I filled one with 50 round 9mm boxes and there is a fair bit of space that I can't really use unless my ammo is loose.

I did find that the white isn't quite a solid white, it very slightly transparent. I was hoping for a solid arctic white.

The triple lock system works great if you want extra extra security and it stacks very well.

My last issue is that I was very obviously sent a returned/refunded box as the sticker on it was half ripped off and there were obvious nail marks on the box. It appears that the neanderthal couldn't figure out how to get the rest off and just returned it. Again 30 seconds with a hair dryer and it came right off
