Boyan BBoyan B: I purchased 1” 1/4 thick, 50 ft long nylon rope to install as the patio fence. Sadly the rope has a major defect 4 ft before one end, which I discovered at the end of the installation. Too late to dismantle and return to seller. Very disappointing.

Amazon Customer :-): I bought this rope for making drawstring backpacks. The need to be able to wash our backpacks daily when out in “pandemic world” became evident as we wash EVERYTHING that leaves the house thoroughly now.

I needed strong, durable cord that would tolerate being pulled to open and close backpack and stand up to daily washing. This rope is EXCELLENT-just what I needed!

Our backpacks go into the washer every evening and hang dry overnight, and ready to go each morning. The rope does not fray or wear away with daily use. I followed the directions about how to seal the rope when cutting in, and it worked very well. My recommendation is to tightly tie a knot of sewing thread in either side of where you wish to cut; this prevents excessive “unwinding”. Once you have cut it, use a candle lighter to melt the raw ends until they seal. They don’t unravel or budge after that.

I am EXTREMELY SATISFIED with this product and it was DELIVERED VERY PROMPTLY. I actually need more as I ran making my backpacks!!!

Rob 'n Julie C: This is perhaps my 6th order of 5/8" and 3/4" twisted nylon from SGT Knots for boat line. I use these lines as my primary docking lines for my 46' cruiser. I find them to be of good quality, easy to eye splice, pliable and overall suitable for my needs. I use smaller size for daily lines and 3/4" for my hurricane ties. If you are willing to eye-splice yourself this route is a big money saver compared to buying from West Marine and similar marine supply stores. I use twisted vs braided line because it seems to offer better stretch under load. I've also made 10' double spliced Dacron sections in any area that is subject to wear since Dacron is stronger (but not as stretchy) as Nylon. Recommended regardless of size or material.

CjCj: I bought this to use as the innards of a crochet bag handle- to help the handles be stronger. I got the 5/8" size. I wanted a rope that wouldn't have any stretch to it at all- the rope would have to stop the crochet stitches from stretching out and wearing prematurely. The rope is not able to be seen- the handles have been crocheted around the rope, giving the handles a nice, rounded look. It makes the bag very sturdy, but the rope came completely undone when cut. So you have to tape the ends before you cut it. The taped ends are rather unsightly- I'm glad I intended for it to be sewn inside so it can't be seen. It's easy to sew through, but sewing through the tape makes the needle sticky. I had also tried burning the ends to see if the two ends would stick together, but it didn't work. Not a big deal- I was just curious. This rope worked for my purpose, and I'm grateful that it had no stretch at all to it- that part was perfect. But if I were to buy again, I'd look for rope that doesn't come unraveled immediately after cutting.
