It looks like it's gonna do a great job. Seems built pretty solid. And the first punch was spot on perfect.
But the spring never reset and never "punched" for another push.
Very disappointed.

When I went online to find the right tool for a project, I ordered three different items, one of which was this center punch tool, a single punch tool, etc. I simply needed to punch a hole through a few layers of Velcro and canvas. When I received this, I thought it was completely useless and for my purposes, it was! As I set about to write my review on Amazon, as I usually do, but fortunately I looked it up first and found:
An automatic center punch is a hand tool used to produce a dimple in a workpiece (for example, a piece of metal). ... When pressed against the workpiece, it stores energy in a spring, eventually releasing it as an impulse that drives the punch, producing the dimple.
It is to set the center for further drilling through whatever material. How brilliant! I subsequently used it for exactly that purpose on a stubborn door jamb, and, all of the sudden, I am less ignorant! 5 stars because I am grateful for the education and it works for the intended purpose.

This tool worked perfect! I typically dont drill much into cars, but recently I did install a spoiler on my 2020 Corolla Hatchback, and was required to mark 5 drill points. I did clicks per mark, then drilled the holes out. The drill bit was stable and I was able to precisely drill into the marked points.
Also used this to help install part on front bumper, and these tool once again came in clutch, allow us to precisely mark and drill holes. Highly recommend this tool to help marking drill points precisely, and allowing drill bit to have great drilling point to start initial drill hole
