BLUEAMAZON: This safe is easy to install, is decently attractive, but most of all IT WORKS! I have owned several biometric devices and most of them don't work properly. I am happy to say that every time I go to open the safe, it works as designed...no need for repeated attempts in order to get a good print read, It works the first time, every time. If you open it a lot, say 2-3 day like I do, the batteries will last about 2-3 months before needing to be replaced. I suspect that the motors that extend or retract the bolts every time you open or close the safe take their toll on the batteries. The good news is it takes 3 seconds to replace them, with no need to reprogram each time, just pop them in and you are back in business. The fingerprint sensor will struggle a bit if your finger has been exposed to water and still pruned, which is normal for any biometric device on the market because your fingerprints change until the skin returns to normal. If you have will be opening the safe often with wet hands (after a shower, etc), then memorize the same finger in 2 different memory slots...one while pruned and the other dry. This will save you from any delay in getting into your safe before your...

Tony: Excellent. The safe was easy to install. Fit right in the stud space. I know there are better ones out there but for the money, it’s great.
The finger print scanner doesn’t work all the time but it’s probably my fingers being worn down from working. Great for small things and it’s easy to hide. Over all, I would buy it again.

Matthew cugola: Great unit but the shelves are crap and the locking system takes up a lot of the space inside

Some GuySome Guy: First thing's first: I'm really happy with this safe. It is a lot more heavy duty than the Cannons I used at my old house. It is shipped in a thick cardboard box, with a little bit of styrofoam, wood, and thick cardboard guards for insulation. It's not the greatest, but not the worst. When I opened it up to test it I saw that the shelves were loose inside the safe with nothing more than a few foam pieces which were about as protective as duck and cover in a nuclear attack. My shelves weren't bent or anything but I saw that some other reviewers did have bent tabs on their shelves and this may be why (the shelves are metal, but the tabs to secure them are small, thin, and easily bendable).
Installation is simple. You can install this whether your studs are 16" apart or 24" apart. If it's 24" you will need to do some rigging. There are plenty of ideas available online that are easy to do. If your studs are 16" apart, it's much quicker and easier, this is going to fit right between them (the 16" is from the centers of the studs, so there's actually more like 14 1/2" between them). Make sure you use stud finders that also detect metal, pipes, and live wires. Best thing is to put...

El Guapo: I took a chance on this safe after researching several others on here. I’ve always liked the idea of an in-wall safe for quick access to valuables and a handgun. Previously, I had a large (28 rifle capacity) gun safe. It was a beast and there was no way it was going to be carried off by anyone. It met all my needs, but we moved and I knew I wasn’t going to be able to replace it in our new space. Enter the in-wall safe.
I was impressed with the weight of the door and front of this safe. The lock was so-so, but it was very easy to set up with my own password, and the fingerprint scanning was also quick and easy. Packaging was very secure, and Amazon made shipping quick, of course.
I did not end up installing it because—and shame on me—I misjudged what was behind where I was going to put it and found that it was actually on an exterior wall. Barely on an exterior wall, but on it nonetheless. The framing did not allow an easy install (lots of horizontal bracing), and I wasn’t interested in a bigger job that would involve removing some of it. I could’ve installed it higher or lower, but either would’ve been at very inconvenient heights.
So why the...
