Evidently there are some ways you can run into issues with installation but this installed and was up and running in under an hour.
I did some research and even bought the Schlage Sense by mistake when I thought it was this one. Unfortunately I had it re-keyed and installed it before realizing it was the wrong one. So I tried the Sense and Wifi adapter for a while and now have a better understanding of the difference. I now prefer the Connect for what was needed.
The main difference between the Sense and Connect are integration with third party systems and other devices. I'll tell you a little bit about the difference from trying both. Rather than a quick summary I'm going to make you read the whole review so you understand the reasons behind it.
Sense:
Comes with Schlage software for your mobile device, you must create an account but it will do the basic lock/unlock with BlueTooth as well as manage codes, alarms, auto-lock and any other features on the lock. You can buy a plug-in Wi-Fi adapter so you can connect your home of business network to the BlueTooth radio on the device and remotely...

Jay S: I purchased 3 of these locks, all integrated with my Smart Things hub. Installation on the first two doors was a breeze, remove the old, and install the new one. However, on my back door, the bore hole was smaller then the others, and the lock wouldn't fit. I was worried about making the hole bigger, getting the right tools, etc. - and then I tried something new - “RTFM” - and on Page 15 of the install guide – it shows how to remove one screw, allowing the outer casing to be removed – and then the lock fit perfectly in a smaller hole.
Pro:
- Excellent battery life (so far).
- Easy to install and adjustable
- Install guide is reasonable
- Fast response times with the Smart Things hub/app.
Cons (more of a wish list):
- Wish the door had a sensor built-in that let you know if the door was closed or not. Instead I must buy an additional sensor for each door, that will tell Smart Things the door is closed or not. This comes in handy when you want to automate certain alarms or auto lock after the door has been closed for x number of minutes. As of now, I can program the lock to auto lock after 30 seconds of unlocking, but it will simply do that...

cadc82: Second one I have bought so far (first one was directly at a local home depot store). I like this model's overall appearance and construction.
PROS:
- Robust construction, the back piece is quite heavy, and has a large metal frame.
- Easy to program user codes and use them on a daily basis.
- Relatively easy to customize as a replacement lock on an existing door frame (allowing several pieces to come off or extend so it can fit properly).
- Has additional features like built in alarm, vacation mode, remote connectivity via Wink devices.
CONS:
- Why on earth does it only come with 1 key? Based on the retail value, the least you expect is for the manufacturer to provide 2-3 backup copies, in case the batteries die.
- Despite having Z-wave protocol, it is not compatible with all z-wave smart home devices, such as the Securifi Almond +, which has z-wave/zigbee compatibility, but at most recognizes the unit when paring, but ultimately times-out as the Schlage lock does not wait more than a few seconds to show the red X light. Now I will be forced to by a wink hub device just so I can use these locks as intended!
- Built in alarm feature is a great add on,...

Teco: ACTUALIZACION

icu nxtime: Gave it 4 stars because of the need for Apple TV to run on iHome, they should have put a Bluetooth receiver in to it for so we could use the Schlage app without the iHome. The Zwave works fine with my Smart Things Hub there is an app in smart things for custom codes to be added and some timer functions so it will do nicely. I have it set to auto lock at 10pm in case someone forgets to lock it before bed. Would have given it 5 star but no Bluetooth thus no iPhone support without Apple TV is just silly. I wanted to use the Manufacturers App but oh well......
It locks and unlocks well and is super responsive in house or away with the Hub linked. You do need to turn on the Zwave radio for this to work as it is off by default, and as others mentioned you can remove the metal clip and holder for smaller hole in the door configurations.
I think they could have gone away from the Key mode all together, most people will have another door to get in to if the unit fails for some reason with a spare or hidden key to a side or back door.
It did force me to get off my a$$ and make sure the deadbolt was aligned perfectly, for years I had been just accepting the fact I need...

Client d'Amazon: After reading the installation instructions, it took me about 15 minutes to remove my old deadbolt and install the new Schlage deadbolt. Simple, no hassle installation. The only thing that confused me a bit is that the installation instructions show pictures of a right sided installation when outside, and mine was left handed. As I discovered, the kit can be installed left or right side, but with the word 'top' inside the deadbolt always on top. When you plug the deadbolt for the first time, it will fully lock and unlock, discovering at that moment if it is installed right or left handed, because the rotation done by the motor to lock or unlock will not be the same for left or right. The lock will then remember that it is installed right or left side, and everything will work as stated in the installation and user's manuals. If you ever remove the lock and install it on another door which is not on the same side, you will have to reset it to factory settings, install it and plug it as if it were new. It will again lock and unlock, discovering if it is installed right or left.
I then followed the user's manual instructions to change the default code length from 4 to 6...

D. Edwards: I’m a bit OCD about making sure the door is locked before I leave home. My wife gets a good chuckle out of it, and is sometimes gets annoyed. What’s worse is getting somewhere and then worrying about whether or not you locked the door. Should you jump in your car to run back to check it? Are you just being paranoid? Can you enjoy whatever you’re doing without worry about your doors being unlocked?
The Schlage Z-wave Camelot door lock eliminates those questions. The touch panel gives you a positive checkmark when the door locks, and if you’re out and about when you start worrying whether or not you’ve locked the door, just pull out your phone and check. If it’s not locked, simply slide it to the locked position and be assured that the command has been received and executed at home.
The lock has a lot of great features. It can autolock after being open for 30 seconds. It has alarms for tamper and break-in with various sensitivity levels. You can use the open/close status in a Wink robot. You can assign different codes to different people. And you don’t have to worry about getting locked out of the house without your keys.
Now, if only pairing with...

Adrian: This is a good product, it’s easy to install and incorporate with the wink app. There are two big issues which Schlage should resolve, 1 is how loud the mechanism is when it operates. I have a two level home and when it operates it can be heard in all corners of the house. The second issue is the battery life, this thing takes 4 AA batteries which need to be replaced about once a month and Schlage does not make a power supply for this so it has to be battery powered. Might think about getting some rechargeable AA batteries. Another thing which I almost forgot, the Schlage apps do not support this lock. So I guess that’s three things Schlage need to correct.
