Chris Neis: The lock was very easy to install and setup. Using your finger print to unlock your door is very useful as you do not need to take anything with you but your finger(s). While my own fingerprints would be recognized in 95% of the cases my wife's fingerprints would show a slightly higher fail rate. I guess if she would put a new set of her fingerprints to the lock it would improve the recognition rate for her too - but she prefers the included tag batches anyway - you can always purchase further tags and program them to the lock, bought a pack of 3 badges for under $10..
When you leave home, the lock would lock the door behind you automatically so you cannot forget to lock your door.
There are plenty of settings and ways to use the lock - even old fashioned metal keys can be used. I think they sent 2 or 3 metal keys with the lock but we only use 1 for an emergency backup stored at a friend's place.
The mobile app allows you to setup and control anything including temporary key codes. So you can allow people you trust to enter your house just by setting up a code for them remotely. You must not even be in the country.

Howard: Packaging was great. Look and feel is heavy and high quality.

Installation was a SNAP.

No drilling, simply removed existing deadbolt key assembly and bolt (bolt from edge of door) with a phillips screwdriver. Slid new bolt into existing hole on edge of door and put two screws in to secure in place. The new lock assembly lines up perfectly for the two long screws to feed through and once tightened down hold it in place (don't tighten these screws until you have them both started in their respective threads- allows small adjustments so that the lock is straight vertically).

The setup of finger prints, codes and all functions via the 'Next Lock' app was simple, everything worked the first time. Instructions were clear and simple.
The lock looks great on the door and works perfectly.

Highly recommend this product.

PeepPeep: I have the touch pad smart lock on two homes and the gateway as well.
I have had one on my Airbnb for two years. It makes setting personalized codes for guests very easy for each guest- the cleaner etc.
I liked it so much when we purchased our new home I added one to our front door here and am now able to give family members their own code and our personal house one has the touch fingerprint unlock option that I programmed for my husband and I. I also have the gateway set up which helps when I am away and need to set a code. I usually set up guests ( for the airbnb ) 4 digits of something they can easily remember . 🫶 love these smart locks! Finally I would like to say I love how the black smart lock matched very well to our door hardware. I have utilized customer service as well and find via text/ email we were able to trouble shoot and overcome a glitch. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 So- 5 stars for customer service.

Chris: We bought this lock to replace our old keypad lock, we liked the extra features such as the fingerprint reader ( handy for when your hands are full coming in). We also liked that other reviews had good things to say about customer support.

S. Manz: I have this lock installed in my front entrance security door. My wife and I use the fingerprint feature for entry. Also with a "bluetooth bridge" ($40) which connects the lock to our wifi, I can use Google assistance for remote functions such as checking to see if the door is locked and if not, then google can remotely lock it for me
We also love the temporary passcode feature for those unexpected visits when we are not home and the ability to assign several passcodes is invaluable when you have contractors or cleaners going in and out because apart from the convenience, you also get a log of who enters and exits your home and when.
All and all a great smart lock, BIG on features at a very reasonable cost.
The only thing I wish it had is a direct WIFI capability without the need for a "bridge" and when Simonet comes up with a WIFI model, I'll be sure to order one.
Remember that for the best functionality you will also need a WIFI door sensor (about $20). This way google assistant can tell if the door is open or closed and the lock can be set to automatically lock, as soon as the door is closed so you will never have to remember to lock the door.

Gadgitz Lover: We swapped out our 1st gen August lock with this SMONET lock and matching handle (B09V571VMK). The combination looks great. The quality of the hardware is mid-range at best, but wanted to try a value lock first before upgrading to a name brand like Kwikset or Yale down the road. For $120 (after coupon), the SMONET lock works as advertised and quickly setup the pin code and fingerprints for the whole family, which all work well. We've only had it for a few days, so can't speak to its longevity, but the install was relatively simple and the app is straight forward and easy to use. The most difficult part was aligning the lock plate, which required some chiseling of the door frame, but would need to be done for any new lock.
In general, It just works, which is what we wanted, not an overly complex lock/app that tries to upsell the customer on accessories or subscriptions (which has regrettably become the norm these days). My favorite feature is the auto-lock settings, which can be set from 10-60 seconds after the door is unlocked. We never need to worry about an unlocked front door again as long as it's closed.
We also bought the gateway (B0811J4PL8) in order to unlock the door...
