The SAMURAI Ichiban 13" Curved Pruning Saw with Scabbard (GC-330-LH) is the ideal choice for those looking for the best hand pruning saw. With its size, customer support, convenience, and build quality, this saw offers unmatched performance and value. Whether you're a professional gardener or a hobbyist, you'll appreciate the quality and convenience this saw provides. Get the job done right with the Samurai Ichiban 13" Curved Pruning Saw with Scabbard.Ward: First off; if used with much care and attention this is a phenomenal saw. It's extremely ergonomic and cuts like a monster. But compared a Silky the blades are extremely thin and delicate. If you torque your push at all you will permanently bend or snap the blade. If you're a laser-focused-master-arborist who is incapable of making mistakes, buy one. If you're a bit of a ham fisted lunatic, save up a bit more and get a Zubat. My saw no longer cuts straight, but it absolutely still cuts fast.

Nancy G.: Sharp and good blade length

David Pierce: A quality tool that actually works as advertised. The grip is very ergonomic and the blade makes short work of branches 3 and 4 inches in diameter. It will also process wood twice that diameter but it is best suited for the
smaller diameters.

Amazon Customer: I carry this with me on my side by side for small downed trees or brush on trail and it works amazing. It is very sharp and handles up to apx. 5" green wood with ease. Note: do not cut any dry stubs or branches it will dull it quite fast. It is a little bit pricy considering other options but for an avid outdoors person you will truly appreciate this saw.

Bama Boy: I own more handsaws than I would ever admit to my wife. This one is as sharp as my silky saws, comes with a sheath, is small and light enough to take on long hikes, and cuts branches as easily as firewood. The handle fits surprisingly well smaller hands as well as my XL palms. The belt loop is webbed polyester and fastened to the hard plastic sheats with a bolt. I haven't seen any issues with the construction.
I usually carry larger (longer blades) saws that offer raker teeth to be able and cut downed trees, but this will do nicely for hardwood up to 6" and all the pruning around the yard.

Holmes Bryant: I use this saw alot when I'm camping to cut 4in to 8in diameter juniper, oak, pine and aspen. It cuts fast. The handle is comfortable and the overall design is ergonomic. I can use it with one hand or two hands. The belt clasp on the scabbard broke after a couple of months, so I had to jerry rig something to attach it to by belt, but the scabbard itself is heavy plastic and very durable. I don't think the blade is stainless steel so I wipe it with vegetable oil every so often and that has kept it from rusting. I've had this saw for about five months and have not had to sharpen it yet. The saw itself can be used either right handed or left handed, but due to the scabbard's design, it will only go on the right side, so if you're left handed, you have to reach across your body to get to it.

Devin: It is a little bit flimsy but it cuts very well. I suppose as long as you use it properly only pulling towards you it will probably be fine.

Marshal McLernon: Handy saw for trimming small and large branches (we cut up to 8" diameter, easily, if not larger!), from any angle. Amazingly versatile since you can saw with either hand and hold on to the ladder/fence/tree/yourself with the other. I was a little skeptical ordering this, but it has proven its worth several times in the months we've had it. The holster is actually a great feature -- when you're up the ladder and need to use both hands to move around, holstering the saw is safest, as it is quite sharp.
Highly recommend this thing -- it's far better than any other pruning saw I've ever used, short of an actual chainsaw!
