Rowenta IS9100 Valet Full-Size Garment Steamer - Professional-Level Precision

JMAL: This is my third Rowenta garment steamer in 18 years. I loved each of my steamers, but finally had to get a new one after the last one refused to put out any more steam. (I'm still using my original steamer from 18 years ago in another part of my home.) This particular steamer has a nice height for hanging clothes from for steaming, which was just what I was looking for, besides dependability. It works great on all types of clothing, and is especially great for knits. I have purchased Rowenta garment steamers for both of my daughters, and have even given them as wedding and shower gifts.

Dianne: This is my third one. The first lasted a long time. The second one the steam stopped coming out. I think if you do not store it with water in it and keep it clean it will last.
And follow all safety instructions.
An excellent steamer. Gets wrinkles out well. Professional grade. Large nozzle. Lots of hot steam. I use it often.

Loretta: I am a Rowenta Steamer user for 11 plus years! My first Rowenta Steamer was a gift from my late husband, just because he thought I would like it! As it turned out I LOVED it and it was only recently the grip for the steamer head cracked and became a nuisance. I suppose I could have Duct taped it but I decided to shop for a new one. I spent 4 days researching different brands that were all in my price range and hands down, This Rowenta model won! The extending and collapsing hanging rack is a great convenience, the 3 levels of steam a real plus and it"s a breeze to roll around and back to the cubby hole it lives in when not in use! The steam is available very fast, lasts a long time and does an awesome job on all types of fabric, from delicate silks to sturdy wools, which should actually be steamed at one of the lower settings! This machine does it all. Then, there's 2 side comparts that pull out to reveal additional tools, stored onboard! What's not to like? There is only one thing that might be considered a con for some. After a more prolonged use of the steamer, I noticed some small droplet spots. I checked to see if it was a leak, but it appeared to be more of a minimal...

Justine: This is probably the best steamer I have owned. It's solid and produces good steam. I wish it came with a backboard to hold things still rather than flopping around on a hanger. There is one that has the backboard, but it is short and would be a killer on your back trying to bend over to steam. Rowenta - we need a tall version like this one with a removable backboard option, then we'd have perfection!

Marc: Unfortunately the dual extension poles prevent you from being able to hold both the front and the back of the clothes you’re steaming, meaning it now takes twice as long. Also, the integrated hanger is too close to the steam barrel so it makes it difficult to put clothes on.

When I realized this, I returned it and instead ordered the simpler GS6020. However, this return has been problematic since, as per the manual, there is no capability to disassemble the hanger from the 2 poles.

Lady twist: Not sturdy: I have a baby at home so I like to move the rowenta to the room where baby plays or sleep. It comes apart and sometimes water leaks when we re moving it. However it works really well my husband wears shirts every day and the rowenta is easier than ironing.

Jing Wang: Love it! Convenient to use and at a great price. When I bought it, it says will take 2-3 weeks to ship, but it's sold by Amazon.ca and I received the order within a week after I placed the order. It splatter water a little bit but it's not a issue for my purpose. I usually steam silk materials. Easy storage. I recommended this product to my friend and bought it again for her after. She loves it too.

Thirukumaran Thirunadarajah: I purchased this product to save money on dry cleaning shirts. I have however been unable to successfully reproduce dry cleaning quality, or even close to that. I find the hose difficult to manoeuvre, and the steam flow from the nozzle minimal. As well it doesn't really have a good support system to hang your clothes on while ironing. I was able to have some success with regular polos, but it's nothing a regular iron couldn't do. I was pretty disappointed with the results considering how much I spent on this product.

A.C.: I don't usually take time to write product reviews, but I'm so disappointed by this one I wanted to help save other buyers from a mistake. This would be the absolute best garment steamer on the market - IF ONLY it could fulfill its primary function: to produce steam!!! It seems they thought of everything - great accessories, built-in hanger, adjustable height, portability, easy-to-fill, removable, large-capacity water tank, variable steam settings, super-easy assembly, etc, etc... The only problem is, the steam output is pathetic. Even on highest steam setting, there is little to no visible steam coming out. I tried it anyway on a couple of garments (a dress and a shirt), and it left them WET and still wrinkled. I even called Rowenta customer service, and they suggested using bottled spring water instead of tap water. So I went out and bought a gallon of spring water, tried it, and no difference. Even if there had been, it wouldn't be the most convenient thing to own a steamer that you had to go out and buy special water for... I'm returning it and will have to look for a different steamer that has the most important feature: steam.

Halle' A.Vaive: I have used a steamer (different brand) for the last 4 years minus all the nice amenities that the Rowenta IS9100 model has. Last month it started leaking which could not be repaired so I was on the hunt for a new steamer.
I was going to buy the same steamer and then I saw this Rowenta Model IS9100 Commercial one and with all the amenities and I decided to buy this and give it a try. After researching "everything" that was out there on clothes steamers, the Rowenta rose to the top of my list for several reasons. The larger water resorvoir which is fabulous! I can steam many more items now without having to stop and refill it...VERY nice feature.

The adjustable handle is also quite nice, allowing me to push it down and slide it out of the way in my laundry room. The efficient and FAST operation of this unit is also very very good. Seems like you don't even wait a minute or so and you have HOT steam and ready to rock and roll! (As much as you can rock and roll while steaming clothes ;-) Less expensive steamers take 3 to 4 times longer to heat up, so this is a great feature. Also very hot steam...be careful ladies, this is a wonderful feature for getting out those really...
