Deborah Matthews: What a great story, Max and Charly were a perfect match in every way. A little drama, a few melancholy memories, a lot of grumpy, and a super sexy romance all rolled into the ebb and flow of this well crafted read.

Brittany Abner 💚💛: I enjoyed reading this book because it had a lot of elements that I love in a romance novel. The characters were well-developed and had great chemistry. Charly was a strong, independent, and witty heroine who could handle Maxx’s grumpy attitude and stubbornness. Maxx was a protective, loyal, and caring hero who had a soft spot for Charly and his dog, Tank. The secondary characters were also interesting and added to the story. The plot was engaging and had some surprises that kept me hooked. The writing style was smooth and easy to read. The dialogue was witty and realistic. The romance was sweet and steamy, with some angst and drama along the way.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes contemporary romance novels with quirky heroines, gruff heroes, cute dogs, and happy endings

jd66: A new author for me. A great grumpy/ sunshine feisty heroine story. Done very well too. I loved getting to know these new characters. I enjoyed the drama and found the story entertaining. Good narration too

Tammy Moldovan: The banter. The sexual tension. The anticipation. The growls. The feels. I loved it all. Maxx and Charly’s enemies to lovers, boss-employee, grump-sunshine, one night stand was a beautiful romance of all the things. It is a heartwarming, hilarious and steamy tale with lovable and relatable characters who have flaws, but are really just trying to do their best as messy humans. They are both a little rough around the edge, a little wounded. Maxx owns a garage and desperately needs some office and housekeeping help. He places an online ad to find it. Charly is down on her luck after losing her job plus her apartment after being scammed and robbed by her roommate. She answers Max’s ad and is offered the job. There is some confusion about Charly’s gender plus there’s a ONS before they meet. Deciding to pretend the ONS never happened Charly begins working for Maxx. This begins the c’mere, c’mere , get away, get away journey to their HEA. I loved how their relationship developed organically interaction by interaction until their lives were hopelessly tangled and their love was deep. Mrs. Patricia Brown: Really enjoyed this book. I loved Charly and Maxx and their interactions, especially when Maxx tried to control what Charly should wear. I was really happy that she was able to help him with the problem Shannon caused, to give him happiness. I liked all the side characters as well, especially Mary.

Xox2read: Melanie is definitely one of my fav authors. Melanie’s books are so wonderful I don’t even bother to read the blurb, I just grab everything. So far, I’ve read every book and I have loved every single one. This story revolves around Max and Charly and these characters are a delight to read. Maxx needs someone to just organize his home and business, and Charly, is sweet and sassy and organizing is something she excels at. She’s smart and witty and let’s not forget, she bakes the best pies to boot. Charly has recently run from the big city And just wants a second chance at a new life. Maxx has gone through a lot in the last few years and one of his worst experiences was having a woman he deeply cared about try to destroy everything he cared about. Charlie and Max are one of my fav couples and this was a delight to read. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from the author and purchased a copy as well
