Helen: This book starts with everything in Richard and Katy’s life going wonderfully. Richard is a changed man, his love for Katy and his daughters bringing out the best in him, he’s surrounded by love, friends, and a fulfilling career, so of course something has to go wrong.

An accident and subsequent injury tests this couple to the limits, Richard is back to his old ill tempered self, treating Katy badly, and being short tempered with his daughters, it takes almost loosing everything for him to see the error of his ways. This was a great addition to the series, I love this couple, and what they go through in this book cements their love further. A must read if you’re a fan of the previous books.

Suburbanbushbabe: I love complex MMCs. And boy, is Richard van Ryan complex! Add to what he was in The Contract and The Baby Clause, a growing well of love for Katie and his family and, believe it or not, humility. Not that humility replaces his ego. And he'll need both with the challenges that come with this book.

Katie has come into her own as a woman, a mother, and a fully sexual being, all of this bolstered by her great capacity for love. And she can hold her own with Richard. The Contract begin with Richard being pretty emotionally abusive to her. And Katie, because she needed the money and couldn't afford to be fired, took it. And even as they grew closer, she was still a little bit in the shadow. Richard was sort of the star.

This story strips them both bare. So be prepared for that and to see the strengths, vulnerabilities, and emotions.

Katie's choice was to be a mother and a wife and support her family, and she does that in with so much strength and love. But with the challenges that come, she has to get away from Richard; he pushes her away. At one point he becomes the original Richard.

I defy you to go through this book without tears coming to your eyes. This...

Rebmay: Katy and Richard’s story has always held my attention. They are truly a couple who are meant to be together. This book gives readers further insight into the strength of their love, their connection, after a tragedy. Will they love and support each other, or will they pull away from each other? Their close group friends, family really, rally around them, but will it be enough? Reading this book may require the use of a few tissues, but it well worth the read!

Jess. (JessReviews): I absolutely loved this book. The characters are fantastic and the storyline was brilliant.

Katy and Richard are both brilliant characters. The character development is faultless. It’s brilliant to see their happy life together with everything going well, and I love the spark, between them. Then when things went wrong, it was gut wrenching to read. Richard didn’t know how to cope, and his behaviour wasn’t great, but Katy did everything she could from him. Seeing him struggle with everything, almost lose it all, and then then to come back fighting was fantastic.

The storyline was nothing like I expected. It hit the feels hard, especially when he was at his worst. The way it developed was great though, with him fighting to get everything back.

I loved the other characters and particularly the Gavins. Their brilliant and their support towards Richard and Katy was admirable.

I absolutely loved the ending. Everything ended up perfect in the end and they all got what they wanted. It was a perfect end to the series.

There is NOTHING that I dislike about this book. Actually, there is NOTHING I like about this book...because I LOVED everything about it! I am a big fan of Melanie Moreland, and of all her books, and have been from the beginning when I read Into the Storm. Through each new release, I professed the current book is my favorite of all time. When I read The Contract, it was plain to see that it was on a level by itself! One that goes beyond simple words like "favorite book", "favorite characters", "favorite author"! Although I love each and every book by Melanie Moreland, The Contract is now considered my GOAT! (Greatest of All Time) The Contract first introduced us to Richard and Katy. I fell in love with Katy right away and admired her for her strength. The same cannot be said for my first impression of Richard. However, Richard evolved into the perfect book boyfriend because he fell in love with Katy, and amazingly, she fell in love with him! Pamela Waddell: So obviously, I really enjoyed The Amendment, 5* peeps! Before I started I was worried/ scared even. I'd seen the teasers, so I had all sorts of scenarios running through my head. But let me just tell you I didn't theorize at all well. Melanie knocked out of the park, beyond my wildest expectations.
I started one night then continued the next at 12%, when 86% dawned about 5:35am and my tablet almost broke my glasses as I almost passed out I had to stop. I didn't even realise I'd read so long. I was thoroughly engrossed in the story of Richard & Katy. There was so much to take in, digest & ultimately enjoy. More than 1 chapter I read through tears, others with giggles, some with shock & worry. I hurt, cheered, cursed and loved along the roller coaster with Richard & Katy, my heart physically hurt at times as it plummeted with despair & fear, then soared with love & hope.
It you've not read the start to Richard & Katy's story, you should before you read The Amendment. You'd probably be able to enjoy it somewhat but you'd definitely miss out on an awful lot. I really can't recommend this book and the while series enough.
