Whether you've had the menopause or like me, you're very peri! read this book and follow the 21 day programme, don't have to be too rigid, as most of the ingredients one can't find in South Wales! Even if you use this as a guide, ie i couldn't quite give up the alcohol for 21 days, you'll at least understand what food upsets you. It's made all the difference! Have really rethought about toxins and what they do to my body and my home, I'm really making a contribution to reduce my carbon footprint. This has really changed my attitude but I don't feel like the changes have been totally drastic. Give it a go, men and women afterall both sexes go through hormonal changes. My husband us giving it a go too.

Ece Ergin: Really a good book to address specifically hormonal weight gain. I think this one is the best book that I read about this topic.

Luisa Cisterna: I did the hormonal reset back this summer and I've kept them in check until today. I'm a menopausal woman with Hashimoto - not a good combination. I bought this book out of desperation. Back in April, may health went downhill. Although my doctor said that I was OK, I felt miserable. No energy at all.
I did the reset with my sister. My goal at that point was not to lose weight although I desperately need to drop pounds. I just wanted my life back. Not only did I get my life back, I'm dropping pounds slowly. I'm not hungry, I have zero sugar cravings and my body just craves clean food.
I had another check up recently and my OK blood levels (hormones and such) are, according to my doc, excellent.

Over the past year & a half I'd gained like 10 pounds (o.k. maybe more). I think it all started with the stress my (now retired) boss was putting on me. It was awful, affecting not only work, home, personal and active life. I didn't want to run, cook or leave the house. I couldn't poop. I saw my doctor, we tried anti-depressants (& drugs to stimulate my colon) that really didn't help (actually felt a bit worse).

S. Brown: I am on day 3 and I have to say that it has changed the way I eat. Eating is now a chore. I find it hard to eat a pound of vegetables a day. That is a lot. And so much work that I am just eating everything raw.
Instead of thinking this would be good with... I am thinking this won't taste as good but will give me more fiber or more protein so I opp for that instead.
I haven't lost any weight. I don't feel more energized. In fact I over slept yesterday by 1.5 hours and fell asleep 1.5 hours earlier than normal last night.
She says to up the fiber to between 75 and 100 grams a day but gives no way for you to figure out how much you are getting. I looked up some charts online and I can't figure out how to get it that high. I bought a supplement but it only adds 3 grams! She also says to make smoothies and soups to get all the vegetables in, but if you puree your vegetables I always heard that negates the fiber. And cooking them to the soft consistency in a soup would also break down the fiber. So I am confused.
It is hard to wade through all the words to find the part where she tells you what to actually do or not do and when.
I will stick with it for the 21 days and...

sherrie: I read this book because it was suggested by my gynecologist. I was not sure about it. I too wish there were doctors near me to test for hormones. I did not follow it to the T but did as best as I could. It did take 42 days not 21!!! It is difficult with a hubby who likes to eat out. You pretty much need to commit to eat at home for 42 days. However at 50, I had gained about 10lbs in 6mths and needed help. This helped!!! I feel better and lost the 10 I gained. I do see a different way of eating for myself. It is helpful to see which hormones are my trouble and reset those. Once you do it all, I feel like you can pick and choose which resets to do! Worth the read and then decide how serious you take it!
