Redi Shade No Tools Required Easy Lift Trim-at-Home Cellular Light Filtering Fabric Window Shade

DD: I absolutely LOVE these blinds. But with a few modifications. They are inexpensive. Minimalist look and EASY to install. I had a whole house of blinds to install on a budget and these look amazing! Originally, I thought they would be a temporary solution until I could get wood blinds. But I love them so much I’m not taking them down anytime soon!

HOWEVER, there are the tricks to getting these to look custom and not fall down:

Hand cutting didn’t work for us. We wrapped the ends with blue painter’s tape and cut with a table saw with fine blade. Perfect quick cuts.

Use 1” wide clear gorilla mounting tape. Just remove the paper covering the blind’s original tape and slap on the gorilla tape right over it. Press hard into place and leave it alone overnight so the tape can cure.

The company does not make handles to fit these blinds. I can’t understand that? I was finding that the fabric would get a little stained over time from handling and wanted a solution. I have a similar hardware installed blind from Walmart and found that the handle fits these pretty well! I’ve attached photos but you will need the 1/8” thick Scotch mounting pads to...

Kretschman Multisport: In different sizes, and most of them worked very well and look beautiful.
Two of the larger ones, however, fell down after a couple of months, because of the humidity in the summer. I will tack them back up with an adhesive strip, now that the humidity has settled down.

RubyLangRubyLang: The quality of the product is great. I chose them for my living room based on filtering light rather than light blocking. They work wonderfully for this purpose! Getting them put up was rather tricky. However, after a few false starts, they were easy to install. Within a few days, two out of four shades started losing the grip. To be fair, the adhesion strip was flat but the surface I was trying to attach it to is not. When I pulled them completely off it made a mess of both the painted surface and the adhesion strip. I ended up using sets of command strip velcro hangers (see photo) (four per window shade). This works and will also allow me to take the blinds down without damaging the surface they're attached to. It’s also tricky to get them level when raising them – kind of hit and miss. If anyone has a suggestion about how to get them level, I’d love to hear it. The bottom line for me is I’d recommend these to friends and I’m going to order the black-out version for my bedroom.

Amazon Customer: I like these shades a lot. They filter the light nicely, so there is no glare from the sun. They really are easy to install, and a sharp kitchen knife does work to cut to the correct length. They don't weigh much and are easy to lift and lower. II ordered 4 shades 48x64 for two wide windows. One of the 4 arrived in bad shape, the box and plastic shade base were cracked; Amazon replaced it in record time.

One of the shades has had persistamt adhesione issues; the whole shade detached and fell on the window sill a day after installation. II stuck it back up, but a few hours later one side had detached. I'll just keep it up if needed, but I might have to get better double-seded tape. Another detached at one end a few times.

I still think these are a good value, depending on durability.

CBoenig: These Light filtering cellular Redi-Shades are the bomb! They are simple enough to make an otherwise large project ....converting all household windows to these cellular shades, reasonable & doable! Both in cost and effort. Literally takes minutes per window. Do measure again after your first cut on one end of the shade before making the final cut. I like mine trim against the window edges instead of having a margin, so for precision, a second measuring is important before cutting the other side. I found that a good pair of scissors can be used on the end of the bottom bar if the edge is a bit rough after slicing through with a knife. Very simple and more precise than free hand with a knife for a final touch before fitting the end piece onto the bar. Very pleased with the aesthetics. Clean, fresh look, great privacy and in addition to thermal insulative qualities, I believe, it also creates some sound insulation. The light filtering effect in the Natural Tone is also a nice addition to the ambience of the rooms. Delighted and pleased with the transformation to our home. Amazon Customer: I love this product, but, within a few days of installation, 2 out of 4 of the blackout shades I ordered got stuck and then wouldn't raise or lower anymore. A 50% fail rate is too high. I have ordered replacements because I like the product and the price, but the manufacturer needs to fix the underlying issue, and the hassle it is creating. I also have Redi Shade light filtering shades on my other windows and so far, have not encountered the same problem, but it has only been a week. I'm hoping I will be lucky, and the rest of the shades will keep working. Otherwise, the Redi Shade line of cellular shades are a great value, easy to install, and a great overall product. They do seem to help with temperature control as well. I put shades up on 15 windows for less than $600, and it would have cost me $2500 or more to have professionally installed "permanent" shades. I plan to make these shades my permanent shades if I can get them to work! I tried calling the customer service number and they claim they don't take incoming calls from customers, so I guess you can only reach them through email. Luckily, I was still able to return through Amazon.

They sent me onther one to replace it...damaged too! Though, i decided to keep it and not to use the natural color side because the damage was inflected on this side. Yet that was the side I wanted and for which I bought this product...The price is worth this concession.

Joe 2020: I bought at least 20 of these in different sizes for a quick solution to the blind-less windows in my new house. I thought they were just for temporary use and I didn't realize how great the quality was. They are actually a mechanical and engineering marvel. You can cut right though the entire mechanism to get them the right size, and yet they contain an elaborate string mechanism so you can raise or lower them to any height. They look great like expensive blinds. If you just kept these and never bought permanent blinds no one would know. Of the 20, two of them randomly unstuck and fell down but i just used some picture handing nails to secure them again and they work great. A nice, good looking affordable easy solution for window covering.
