Rechargeable Emergency Weather Radio with Hand Crank and Solar Power

Gregg: Comes in handy during a storm. Sits in my kitchen plugged in and in alert mode in case of terrible weather. Goes off ever Wednesday at 11am with the Emergency test. The alarm going off will alert you without a doubt. Radio for music works well. Light on it is bright. Has a battery backup on top of the rechargeable battery. Can also plug in a cell phone to charge.

Frank Joy: We were surprised by how small it is, but everything works fine. The owners manual talks about the included power cord, but there was none included. We charged it using the USB port and an on-hand iPhone charger. Missing power cord is our only negative thought.

Lynx Spider: Off the box, the unit was working fine and broadcasting emergency weather station and some local FM station in my area. Then I left it on my south facing window to check if the solar charger is working. It is exposed to the sun 4-6 hours a day for 10 days ( I went on vacation). I turned it on upon my return and there is no power. I used the hand crank for 10-15 minutes. Same thing no power. I installed 3 triple A battery. It works. But installing the triple A is not supposed to be my idea of power source for an emergency radio. Power source should be either the solar panel or the hand crank mechanism. I returned it and got a quick refund as soon as I dropped it at UPS store.

Stacey Duncan: Bought this as a Christmas gift for my hubby. He was completely surprised and loved it. We were on a very tight budget and this was within my means. I don’t think I could have done better. He took it right out of the box, looked at all the features, found radio stations and this is what we listened to for days. Can’t really give a 5 on the battery as we haven’t tried to see how long it will last yet. This summer though, when we camp off grid!

Huge: Somewhat surprised at the quality and features of this weather radio. First of all, the sound quality of the radio exceeded my expectations. The battery life was consistent with what the manual described. I can't vouch for the weather network auto scanning and notification as there are no current severe weather conditions but the concept is well thought out. Having a backlit display is a nice touch as well. The hand crank is fairly quiet and from what I read the solar panel is more of a battery maintainer. The FM reception was crystal clear, the AM was not quite as clear but that could be due to local interference. The SW band was about the same as the AM band. Altogether a well designed and affordable device to be part of an emergency kit.

glenn bray: it would take hours of constant motion to even partilly charge the battery. solar cell useless. the only thing good about this radio is reception. May be able to charge your phone once or twice on battery but for long term blackouts it's not a solution.

Amazon Customer: The radio arrived quickly and was what we wanted for emergency situations. However, we did not like the sound quality. The company reached out to use and send us a replacement. The sound quality is perfect. It really is a great radio in an emergency made by a USA company that takes pride in their products.

Angelina Hamilton: I like everything about this radio...WOW... I live in Phoenix, AZ and I wanted to have a back up plan if I need to get out in a hurry because of a wild fire (or any emergency situation) Well, I have found my back up plan. It does everything, flashlight, table light, phone charger, solar power, weather radio, radio, hand crank, time, etc. I LOVE IT AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.
