Heather H: Great set and worth your money. Lots of attachments come with it, so you have the right one. Love the carrying case to keep everything contained. Has a nail guard to keep your pet safe.

Monika: I have 3 shepherds that hate getting their nails cut. This tool is a life saver. Easy to use. Quite. My dogs actually let me do their nails now without a fight.

MTreviewer: For a very fussy dog, this has made life a lot easier. The sanding pad needs to be replaced fairly often, and that is the only reason for a slightly lower rating

SS: Good, with a couple of caveats. I'm not sure why a long-existing company like Dremel can't quite get this tool right. I bought this to trim my large dog's nails. I'm right handed and I hold my dog's paws with my left and the Dremel with my right. The first issue is that it blows nail dust right into my face and onto my hand. I fixed this after the first use by removing the allen head screws, removing the two wires on the motor and reversing them. Better! There's a video online of how to do it.
I wish it had a better range of speeds. #1 is too slow. #2 is about right. #3 is a little fast. #4 and #5 are way too fast. IMO, they really didn't design the speed control to grind a dog's nails. I took off the guard and use the 60 grit wheel. Overall, I like it much better than my old, 7770 Dremel.

TM: Just received this item. The thin clear bag covering the drill in its box was open but nothing appeared used. The tip of the drill was already assembled and had guard on. Other small accessories (bits and extra files) were sealed in a small clear bag. The drill arrived with enough charge for me to test it out on my older lab’s nails. It’s great so far! She usually runs away but stayed laying down as I drilled switching often from one nail to the other so I don’t create too much friction that she feels a burn. The nail dust flew in the air and there was a slight smell but nothing alarming. Her nails were pretty long and often split or I cut her at least once when trying to clip them. This worked great. The “smoke” you see is nail dust that needs blowing out from time to time or the drill locks up. Makes sense to me. I took off the guard a time or two to blow everything clear and would easily start again. If there’s a smell, it’s likely the high speed that would smell up many surfaces, especially when it comes to a living being. Don’t stay on one bail longer than a few seconds. I’d just hold her paw in my hand and grind away switching nails quickly back and forth....

Steven: Pet grooming - an endeavor that's often met with apprehension by both pets and their human companions. Memories of my furry friend's anxious stares and jittery paws always made me reluctant to even approach nail trimming. That's when the Dremel PawControl Dog Nail Grinder and Trimmer came into our lives, reshaping our grooming experiences.
The unboxing was promising. The device's design seemed thoughtful and ergonomic, fitting comfortably in my hand. Its cordless nature meant there were no pesky wires to get in the way, and the rechargeable feature assured me of its longevity.
But the real test lay ahead. With some trepidation, I approached my canine companion, Dremel in hand. To my surprise, the device's quiet operation didn't ruffle his usual calm demeanor. The absence of the loud buzzing noise, so characteristic of other trimmers, was indeed a relief.
The grinder's gentle rotation ensured that the nail trimming process was not only effective but also painless. The adjustable speed settings allowed me the flexibility to approach more challenging nails with precision. And for those uncertain moments, the safety guard was a godsend, ensuring I never went too...

Christine: I have a 4yr old 120lb mastiff/ lab X. His nails are extremely thick!! 1/4" - 5/16" at their widest point. I paid approx. $70 CAD and I would definitely recommend this product to other large breed dog owners looking for an alternative to manual clippers.
The first time I used it, I kept the clear plastic nail guard on. I could do without it bc the guard is limiting but it was nice to use when first getting a feel for the tool. I liked that the opening of the guard is wide enough to accommodate the width of my big boy's nails. The guard is also nice for trapping some of the nail dust.
The second time I decided to take the guard off and use the fully exposed flat dish. This method was faster and easier. On our first use (overdue for a nail trim), I would say one flat disk lasted us 1-1.5 paws. I haven't used the round disks yet. Replacement disks of both type are super cheap so I'm happy!
On the 4th (highest)speed, I would alternate from nail-nail for 3 sec at a time because of how quickly the friction will make the nail tips hot to the touch. My dog's nails are all black so I like to be cautious and take my time anyways!
When I used the nail grinder, even at...

Shawn Hoffman: Dremel PawControl works great and my dog doesn't mind getting his nails done now. It eliminates worrying about hitting the quick and the clicking noise of the clippers which startles him. It allows you to take off small amounts at a time until you can see the quick before you get to it. Even better you grind back the top of the nail which helps drive back the quick so the nails can be shortened more every time you do the nails. Within a month or 2 the nails recede to about half the length from being able to trim the top of the nails.
