ebinner: I have had a couple of dremels and have never been able to use them for my chihuahua especially or my Boston Terrier actually. This one without any problems that Chihuahua let me cut his nails and then finish them off with the with this grinder. I'm still working with my Boston she doesn't like her nails cut at all so it's going to be a process but I'm sure she'll be fine it's so quiet. And I really like the light also

Jaynie: This nail grinder was an absolute life saver. I have an older pup who randomly decided a few years ago that she did not like her nails filed (most likely due to the new pup I adopted and she wanted further attention…). We ended up having to take her to the vet to be sedated every time because she would get so worked up, but then in the past year we discovered a slight heart murmur and the vet began to be worried about sedation. A few Amazon clicks later and this grinder was ordered. She doesn’t completely love it, but it’s so quick and I feel is better for her health all around!

I also recently lost the charging cord (which I’m guessing is my pup’s doing…) and when I reached out to customer service, they responded within hours with a link to purchase a new one! 5 stars all day!

HawkEye: I have an 8 pound dog who is the sweetest, most laid back chihuahua/MinPin pup ever.. UNTIL you get ready to cut his nails. Then he is the most terrified, strongest bundle of nerves imaginable. He tries to climb up my neck to get away...until now. He isn't at all afraid of this miracle nail trimmer. It's so quiet and non stressful when I trim his nails with this little miracle gadget, that he just lays in my lap now while I trim his nails! The trimmer is very quiet and apparently non threatening to use. Just read the instructions before using and trim the pad hair on your pups feet. As with any rotary tool, the long hair between the toes can get tangled in the spin if you're not careful. I don't use the guard, so trimming the long hair first is essential.

Animal lover: This arrived this morning and I used it straight way on my dog. The noise level is very quiet and as he was not worried by it after a sniff I thought I would give it a go. I only did a little bit on each nail as I had clipped them only a few days ago. My dog laid very quiet while I did his toes and he had a treat after each paw was done. So much easier than clippers and I found he did not tend to pull his front paws away slightly as he has done with clippers. All in all a very relaxed experience for my dog and myself as I was not worried about catching the quick as I had with clippers. It will be so much easier now to keep his nails short which is better for agility. Would recommend this grinder for noise level and easy to use and it fits nicely in the hand...

Lui: Bisher nur einmal genutzt - das Gerät ist top! Mein Hund ist 12 Jahre alt und bewegt sich nicht mehr so viel wie früher, weshalb das Horn zu lang geworden ist. Ebenfalls sind die Blutgefäße der Kralle/ das „Wildfleisch“ weiter mit gewachsen. Daher war klassisches Krallen „knipsen“ weder Zuhause noch beim Tierarzt (ohne Narkose) eine Option. Dieses Gerät erlaubt es mit kurzer und regelmäßiger Anwendung die Krallen zu kürzen, ohne das Tier dabei zu verletzen. Dabei wird auch das „Wildfleisch“ in der Kralle langsam „zurückgedrängt“.
Sollte es nach der Anwendung bluten, haben Sie es zu gut gemeint und das Tier verletzt. Daher bitte nicht einfach drauf los sondern immer sorgsam und vorsichtig das Gerät anwenden. Damit die Kralle nicht wild umherschwingt auch diese bei der Anwendung festhalten. In unserem Fall muss die kleine ordentlich festgehalten werden. Daher ist eine Anwendung zu zweit klar zu empfehlen. 1. um überhaupt die Krallen kürzen zu können & 2. um das Tier nicht versehentlich zu verletzen.

Es ist mühsam, aber immer noch besser, als eingewachsene Krallen, welche bei dem Tier definitiv Schmerzen verursachen!!

JJ: When my old Dremel brand nail grinder died, I thought it was an issue with the battery not being able to charge anymore. So I ordered a new battery. It worked for a short time (just past the return date of course) and died again. I was tired of messing with it so I got online and found this one. In truth, I'm not even sure why I picked this one over all the others...just a gut feeling I guess.

This nail grinder is way...WAY...WAY quieter than my Dremel one ever was. This one barely makes any sound at all. My year old border collie puppy was scared of the Dremel. I used very high value treats and was trying to ease him into it. But he was uncomfortable with that noisy thing. Today I got this new one out and used very high-value rewards. Puppy was just fine with it. He quickly found out that it's quiet and doesn't hurt at all. He was the best he's ever been for his nail trimming. In fact, he was just about perfect.

I LOVE that it has two built in lights (turned on with a single switch) that aim in the direction of the spinning wheel. The wheel itself is like a VERY fine sandpaper...much finer than my Dremel sander head. This trimmer has an attachment that limits the...

Kindle Customer: The noise level of this item isn't entirely all that -quiet- as advertised but it is low. Now when it comes to devices like this for your companion may need some time to be introduced to it. I bought this for my brothers boston terrier (I'm pet sitting for a while), he's a large boston terrier so his paws are alot bigger then normal and his nails are thick. But I still can use the small size or switch to the medium when needed of the nail filer/grinder. He has been trained to allow nail trimming but I wanted to try this out as I'm not comfortable using a nail trimmer.

I first started with pretending I was doing his nails, just to see how he would react. I didn't have it on, I just acted like I was filing which he was fine with. If your companion pulls away even without it on, you have to SLOWLY introduce it for your pet to realize it doesn't hurt and to build their confidence with it. If you have to start basic to teach them "give me paw" to get use to you touching their paws, cause some pets don't like their paws touched and that's where it stems off of from them not accepting the nail grinder.
