Evan: The author gave very good advice coming from many facets on Christian dating perspectives. Few chapters did not apply to us older dating people; but it has some real-life insights - a real good read ...with questions to answer after each chapter.

Alina: Ich muss vorweg sagen: ich habe das Buch eher blind bestellt, weil der Titel und das Thema unglaublich interessant klang. Mir war nicht bewusst, dass es ein christlicher Ratgeber ist. Das geht also auf meine Kappe, in der Beschreibung des Buches steht es auf jeden Fall mit drinnen. Dies soll also keine Kritik an der Leistung von Amazon sein. Nun zum Inhalt: Ich bin zwar offen für einen religiösen Denkansatz und Inspiration, aber das war leider nicht so ganz meine Hausnummer. Es gibt viele Passagen aus der Bibel (ob ein mehrere Jahrhunderte altes Buch der richtige Beziehungs-/Eheratgeber ist, muss jeder selbst entscheiden. Meine Meinung spiegelt das leider nicht wieder). Ich bin noch nicht weit und möchte versuchen das Buch zuende zu bringen, deshalb kann ich noch kein abschließendes Urteil bilden. Vielleicht gibt es ja den ein oder anderen interessanten Denkanstoß. Trotzdem denke ich dass das Buch nur für Menschen interessant ist, die entweder Gott sehr stark in die Beziehung/Ehe einbinden und eine sehr traditionelle Vorstellung der Beziehung/Ehe haben oder für Menschen mit Interesse an Christen in den USA und wie diese mit dem Thema Ehe umgehen. Calan R Morgan: When it comes to marriage lots of people think preparing before hand isn’t important. So wrong! My wife and I know the value that pre-marriage education can be to marriage. Since it gave us such a good foundation we have sought to help other couples out too. We have guided many couples through preparations prior to their wedding for a successful marriage. We are always on the lookout for great resources to provide to these couples. This book right here is one of the best I’ve found. We will not only recommend it but most likely will give a copy to every couple we mentor.
It does a great job balancing easy to read language, great examples from real couples, biblical truth, practical lessons, and reflection questions. The questions are great to start conversation on topics that are not usually addressed without some prompting. I really enjoyed every bit of this book. My wife and I just entered into parenthood with our firstborn after 10 years of marriage. The parenting chapter at the end was especially helpful as we begin to discuss exactly how we want to raise our daughter and what we want her to value. Cassie: I highly recommend this book for any dating or engaged couple! I think all 12 of the conversations/topics discussed in this book are so crucial for couples to have before marriage. I loved the authenticity, transparency, and real life stories of other couples in this book who have struggled or had victories in their marriage. You can really tell that the author pours out all the wisdom he has learned from God over the years from being a marriage pastor, husband, and helping thousands of engaged couples prepare for marriage. I appreciated the practical steps and questions in each chapter that help you put action items to what you just read. And even though these are "12 conversations to have before marriage", my husband and I have been married for 2 years and everything in this book was still very applicable to us. Tracy Sinclair: Ready or Knot? Should you read it? Should you dare have those 12 conversations? YES AND YES! I had the privilege of receiving a copy from the publisher so that I could give a review! I am so glad to be able to endorse this book! This has the conversations every couple should have who are coming to the point of becoming engaged but also who are engaged! Scott weaves interviews of couples in each chapter along with scripture through and through and closing each chapter with a section called " Am I Ready?" and "Strengthening the Knot" these two sections have questions to help you apply what was read in that chapter and then a Closing Prayer!
Yes, there are many books available on this subject BUT this will be the book I give to couples from now on! It is an easy read but don't take that lightly! I have been married for 35 years and wish I had this book back then but am glad I have it now and have begun applying these conversations in my marriage! It is worth the investment to buy this book!
