EAF: The game I purchased works, and I have fun playing it; but judging by the many scratches and worn instruction book when it arrived, it was not new. I don't mind buying things used, but I paid $20 extra dollars to get it "new" instead of used. It was delivered in a timely manner. I just wish they would keep closer tabs on their used items.

Rascal: Game was brand new, in plastic wrap, disk was scratch free and in perfect condition which adds to the validity of it being a new game in my opinion. If it was refurbished, it was excellently done.

C.M.B.: The game is good and there’s no scratches. However the game is only in English ( French Canadian guy here! ), but I presume it’s Nintendo’s problem. So if you don’t care if it’s in English, go for it! Super good!

Lindsay Vawter: I wanted to get my son a Mario Party game since that was one that I played my entire childhood. I still remember playing on the Nintendo 64 with my cousins and having hand cramps from playing so long and so hard. This .. not so much of being the same. I really enjoyed the game and the variety of games on the verses challenges but there are a couple things I would change. The main change I would make is to the mini game set that you play when you land on your solo game challenge. Every time I have landed on that space it is always between the same 3 games .. and that gets kind of boring. I'm not sure if it is just me and maybe there is a setting that I haven't changed so I'm still working on it. But if it isn't something that I can change and I'm stuck with only 3 games .. it will really stink. My son really enjoys the game and its a little more intense because you have to more your hands, body, etc. So needless to say, we have spent many, many nights playing Mario Party together. He will unfortunately never know how it feels to have a slight burn in the middle of his hand from moving a N64 joystick around to win .. but we definitely enjoy our time playing with one...

LLB: I dont usually write reviews but want to share my thoughts. I originally purchased this item not fully understanding what it was about just went along with the whole Mario thing.

At first I didnt really rate the game, its in board game style and there is no need to even move your own character however, I stuck with it, started to understand the aim of each section within the game, and even started to love the candy actions which at first I just couldnt get my head around.

All in all I have now had this game for several months, I normally trade a game in after a couple of months but not this game. Its very easy especially when you get the nack of the mini games within it, yet great fun. I absolutely love it, especially on a Sunday afternoon because it requires little brain power, even little effort not having to move your own character.

If you are looking for a game with good graphics that the whole family can play and you are fan of Mario I would recommend! Im never trading mine in, well at least until Mario Party 9 comes out.

H. Rivers: I'm not a lifelong gamer - the Wii is the first gaming system I've ever owned and I have a 6 year old and a 9 year old son. So I don't know about the long history of Mario games - I've certainly heard of Mario, but the Mario franchise is new to me. So I was a little nervous buying into the game - would I have to know all sorts of back story to play it? No, not a bit.

The game format is simple. Up to four players (living or computer) can play a board game in which you roll dice (the Wii remote), move around a board and play little 1 minute mini games to earn prizes. The goal is usually to collect Stars but how you do that changes from game to game. Games can last for 10-50 turns (a typical 10 turn game is about 30 minutes), and players can be handicapped (so I can let the kids start out with two extra stars and then play as well as I want to, as I try to beat them).

The mini games are pretty fun - everyone has their favorites and everyone has games that they hate. The mini games get picked at random, so you never know what you'll get. One thing I love is that you can practice a game before you play it for real. So when friends come over, they have a chance to see how...

Christopher Morgan: This is certainly a game of highs and lows some of the aspects and ideas are great others drive you mad.

The game itself is an electronic boardgame, you roll dice to travel around the board and at the end of your turns in battle mode you play a mini game. The mini games themselves are not by any means groundbreaking and though there is many of them they all use the same basic 10 or so control sets.

The game is highly exasperating at times being based almost solely on luck with the mini-games having little impact on the overall victor of the game. This can get very frustrating as even if you win every single mini game you can still lose the overall game, for some people this will be great (the thrill of all to chance) but for others like me who dont like losing to a random roll of a dice it does take something from the game.

The game has lots of options available on it and despite its sometimes annoying gameplay it does keep you interested. One good thing is that due to the sheer luck of the game a seven year old could win almost as easily as a forty year old which in situations such as a family game can be good.

The graphics arent exactly ground...
