M. Pugh: I absolutely loved  Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) . So much so that I would go so far as to say it was my favourite game ever. So as soon as I saw this game announced I waited not-so-patiently until I could pre-order it with Amazon.

Finally it arrived on release day and I played it. It wasn't the same as number 1 at all. To start with I was a bit disappointed - I think I was almost hoping for just more levels added on to the original style of the game if I am honest. But then I got playing it some more, and more, and more. I was hooked! It is a lot more challenging earlier on than the first game was (great for me, not so good for my son who basically made me play the game for him on his ID as he couldn't do it himself!). The addition of Yoshi works really well, and the new worlds are really great.

If I had to choose between the two, I would still pick the first one as being the better of the two. However, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone. In terms of ability, I would say age 6-7 they could start being able to do this by themselves (my son is now nearly 7 and can do a lot of it on his own).

We have had this game since it was released and we...

Petra 🤗📚📓🖋📮: Super Mario Galaxy 2 is one game which I cannot praise high enough.. I am well over 21 but I really did like it which I was so shocked at as my favourite games are those puzzle games where you have too work things out etc but some of the challenges had puzzle details where you had too work things out to finish the game. I bought this for my nephew for when he visits as he is the type of little boy who always has to be busy at something which usually meant something smashed so I decided to buy him a couple of games which I asked around which one to buy and this one was recommended constantly for the Nintendo Wii.
I just loved everything about it and it was so easy to play as it was made plain what you had to do plus it comes with a Video enclosed with the actual game which was very handy especially for my nephew as he did not want his old Aunt telling him what to do according to him "That's not cool!!".
The video actually contains the following:
1. The Basics :- Getting Started, Controlling Mario, Clearing Stages. It was more or less how to start your journey. (this lasted eight minutes).
2. Playing the Game:- Pointing at the screen, Riding Yoshi, Useful Actions,...

JoeAZ92: Super Mario Galaxy was an astounding achievement in video game design back in 2007, and to this day it remains an excellent and thoroughly enjoyable 3-D platformer. In fact, Galaxy was so good that when I heard that a direct sequel would be coming a mere 2 ½ years later, I had my doubts as to how the game would be a worthy successor without simply rehashing everything that made the first game so great. But while Galaxy 2 is great for almost all the same reasons as the first game was, it still stands out from its predecessor in many ways and stakes its claim as one of the greatest video games ever made.

Galaxy 2's plot is no more or less recycled and predictable as the story from the first game. It's not as though anyone can watch the opening cutscene and think, "Why is that giant turtle thing trying to kidnap the princess?!?" There are no surprises here, except perhaps the fact that this time around, Bowser is absolutely huge. But the beauty of it all is that it shows that Nintendo knows that they don't need an amazing story to make an amazing game. While it might have been nice to see something different, it's hard to ignore the fact that even if Galaxy 2 had a marvelous...

S. Newstone: Super Mario Galaxy 2 has many similarities to its predecessor. Both have fun, enjoyable gameplay, stellar music, and an inexplicable replayability. The problems, however, nearly outweigh the benefits. Spotty, poor controls and the worst camera in any game I've ever played take this game from a five-star effort from Nintendo to a mere three stars for me. Let's talk about the pros and cons of SMG2.

PROS
----

Graphics - I am probably the last person on the planet who cares whether or not a game has amazing visuals, but I'll give this game credit: it looks incredible. Every world is beautifully rendered, and the characters are very well-created. The bosses, which have been getting sillier and sillier as the 3D Mario series goes on, nevertheless are all very well-made. This game really shows the difference between a game that Nintendo truly cares about and one that maybe won't get as much press or recognition as a Mario game.

Music - As usual, the music is superb. Koji Kondo, Mahito Yokota, and Ryo Nagamatsu have crafted a fantastic soundtrack that lives up to the amazing work from the first Super Mario Galaxy. Though several worlds repeat music, overall, the...

Charlie Rodgers: I'll preface this by admitting that I haven't yet finished the game. I got it yesterday (and ran around my flat shrieking in glee!), sat down, and played for about three hours - I've got to the point of opening up the second world.

I think it's safe to assume that it's not going to drastically change over the next however-many levels!

Fantastic stuff:

- Yoshi! Being able to run around on Yoshi is a LOT of fun, and a very welcome addition. It is a *little* annoying that he runs away if you get hit once, but not so annoying that it takes anything away. So I'm thrilled to have him included.

- Graphics. Well, they're the same as the first game, which is no bad thing. Shiny, polished, cartoony - lovely. Easy on the eyes, and many of the aminations are vastly entertaining to watch.

- Sound. Just as good as the first installment. The music is gorgeous to listen to, the special effects fit perfectly. There isn't any voice acting to speak of, but I actually like that in a game. I haven't yet played a game with voice acting that I thought was truly great, so restricting the characters' noises to grunts, shouts, and whoops works for me.

- Difficulty....
