Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: In the image you can see a small tab sticking out on the right hand side/rear. You cannot use/or install untill you removw this tab. If you purchase this keep in mind it will Not seat properly unless you remove this tab first. I used a Dremel grinder to remove tab to be able to use, after which it fit perfectly. I used this item to replace original on window.

G. Jacobs: Arrived timely and fit my aluminum frame tip-sashes almost exactly. There were some small protrusions on the vertical sides that prevented placement. I removed them easily with a hacksaw blade and then they fit the existing holes exactly. Restored two Windows to functional status in a half hour. And the price was was almost negligible. Used a couple of the old screws on the side which were larger than those provided and also held the sash together.

BerniePug: Would of been easier to install but had to make slight modifications (mainly shaving/ cutting off edges) to work on my 30yr old windows. Still cheaper than buying new windows.
