SEA: I'm one of those people that are scared to hurt their fur babies while trimming nails. More so after I made one of my dogs bleed when a different trimmer slipped from position cutting my dog's nail too short. I threw that clipper in the thrash and I've never forgiven myself. I then took my dogs to get their nails trimmed and both were hurt and made to bleed very badly. So I decided to try again with this clipper. It is light weight, easy to hold, and .does not slip around your hand or dog's nail. I used it on my Mom's large Pitbull mix and It cuts through the nails easily. I am pleased with this product and feel comfortable using it.

DONNA: First time ever cutting my dogs nails since I've had her, usually she just files them down naturally on the pavement when we walk.
But since I bought her a face leader to help improve our walks, she hasn't been pulling as much and in turn her nails have gotten longer .
I felt the guard didn't really help (me) while using these clippers .
I cut too far on her first nail but after that it was smooth sailing after that , ince I got the hang of it.
(other than her just not liking it in general, but it was a new experience and she is a anxious dog at times) .
Overall I liked the product, just wish it came with a nail file .

JackieJackie: I have a Whippet and a Whippet cross Lab x Staff. These clippers are reasonably sharp but they couldn't cut through my dogs nails.
They manage the white nails but struggle with the black more thicker nails. If you have a dog with thicker nails I wouldn't recommend but for a smaller dog these are not bad clippers. They are comfortable to hold but I don't like the safety guard on them as it can't be moved so you have to hold the clippers in a certain way in order to clip the nail which I found uncomfortable.
I think the guard may be found useful if you are not confident clipping the nails but for me I found it unhelpful.
I much prefer my older clippers and only bought these as I'm in the middle of moving house and my other clippers are packed and the dogs nails needed clipping. They helped but could be better.

Andrew: I have a high anxiety dog who normally has to be put to sleep by my vet to clip his nails. At almost $400.00 per visit it’s really expensive to cut his nails. I bought these because the price was right and they appeared heavy duty. Well I’m so glad I bought these because my dog actually let me cut his nails with them with no real issues. I have big hands and they were very easy to hold and use. They are sharp and have a quick guard on them which makes them safe. Highly recommended to anyone with any bread of dog. The price is great and I will be getting another one.

Eric: Initially, we like that the lock is at the base of the handle. Other trimmers have the lock at the cutter end, locking the trimmer while you're trimming. These are light and nimble trimmers. I have bit hands and find the handles a bit slim. It's advertised as razor sharp. Apparently, our trimmer missed this stage of processing as ours are a bit sharper than a butter knife. Easy to sharpen as needed.

E.: I've been a dog owner for many years and have always taken my pets to the groomer to have their nails clipped. However, because of the pandemic, this is no longer possible. I scanned the internet looking for a nail clipper that looked easy to use for a first timer. I found these nail trimmers to be light, sharp and easy to use. My dog is a rescue and is pretty nervous, but I was able to clip her nails easily even though I have never done this before. I would definitely recommend this product.

Amazon Customer: This is the best purchase I have ever made! I have tried every clipper, file and Dremel-type device on my 50+ lb dog with absolutely no luck. With everything closed including non-emergency vet visits and groomers it was absolutely necessary to find a way to cut my dog’s nails. This worked perfectly! The guard prevented me from cutting her quick and the blades were so sharp that there was no crushing. I only needed one person’s hep to restrain her because she kept trying to lick me but there was no fight and no dramatic cries (from her or me). All 4 paws were done in less than 2 minutes.

Andrade: Do keep in mind that the lock is just a little metal ring and IT WILL get in your way. Just like the other person said use a piece of tape and tape it open while you're using it.
It's NOT as sharp as it says it is. When I use it on my 30 lb Frenchie it CRUSHES his nails and DOES NOT CUT NAILS as they claim. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to keep shopping other Amazon dog nail clippers.
NOTE: The guard is a good idea. But only if you are looking for a guard that is very big. It's approximately 3/8 of an inch. For each cut. If you have a smaller dog and want to get closer to the quick the guard is going to be useless for you unless it is a larger dog and the 3/8 inch works for you. Also, the guard does slide around quite a bit. Every time I go to make a cut I have to make sure the guard has not moved. It's quite annoying. I will not buy another one of these. Nor do I recommended it.

AvaK: ...finally a set of pet nail clippers that are sharp enough. It has taken all fear out of my Yorkie in getting his nails trimmed. We usually clip during bath time while paw hair is wet and easy to move as well as see his nails. Thanks for a quality product no matter where it's made!!!
