This is a super tool for beginners. Until recently I had only used crafts wood burning tools, the kind that uses solid brass tips, classified as a crafter’s tool…whatever that means. They were all perfectly good tools but for me, not an artist by any means, they did not allow for me to produce great projects as they were too limiting. I was certain a tool with a variety of wire tips would help me develop my skills and ultimately perfect this technique. However, I cannot afford a high-end, top of the industry machine, so I settled for a unit that included one pen and four tips; it retailed for just under $30. After a few minutes of using a wire-tip tool I knew my art was going to be a hundred times better than anything I’d done before.
But that machine had issues and I returned it, and that is when I found this one. For another $30, $58 total, I got a total upgrade. The Preciva 939 has a temp range of 250 C to 750 C. RoseRose: I do a lot of woodworking projects with my husband, he builds and I design using epoxy and engraving. Customer wanted me to burn a Celtic symbol into the lid of a box we made for her and this burner helped me out. Love that it worked on the plywood. Definitely the best one I have used so far. Having the ability to switch between two different burner tips helps cut the work time down. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys wood burning.

Lindsay: I started with the cheap set that has all the extra things. Well it worked and made cool art. However my tips all melted and busted and it took a long time to burn.
Not with this though! Holy crow it heats up fast. I can actually do detailed work with my items. And the time it takes me is easily half what the other did. I really wish I didn't waste my time with the other and just went with this one.
It has two guns, and a switch to flip which one you have getting hot. For saftey,. It heats up very quickly!! Easily able to adjust heat with knob. I love it has a safe place to hold each gun. AND it has a couple different endings.
I'm very happy with it and want to get back at wood burning. I stopped because the cheap one took too long and started to break. But not this one should have just started with this. Very happy with it

Shera HefnerShera Hefner: Would be an awesome burner if it had consistency with the temperature. Also the third use and one of the pens broke to where it’s not useable and the other pen is very inconsistent with the temperature! It does heat up very quickly though!!!! It goes from off to bright red in less then 5 seconds! The only issues I’ve had which has caused me to order a replacement is the temperature not being consistent and pens not working correctly. The one pen wouldn’t keep the wiring inside as it did not come with a replacement plastic nut that holds everything in and first use it striped and that was that! Good for beginners but would recommend a different burner. Will update after I get replacement burner.
***UPDATE****
So as you can see in the above pictures, I have two of the same EXACT STATIONS AND 5 burning pens.
I only have two burners because I bought one and they replaced it as it didn’t work…. The second one also had to get a replacement but they told me not to send the burner back because they didn’t want it resold and they still replaced it so I have two burners. However, the pens are COMPLETE CRAP! I’ve had 8 pens all together and only 2 of them work half...
