DotingMom: I don’t want to even think about how much less money I would have spent over the last decade if I’d found this magic product when we first moved into our home with a 40,000 gallon pool. I live in a very hot region of the country on a wooded lot. It felt like I was spending as much time fighting algae as I was enjoying our pool. I can’t recall how I stumbled on this, but I ordered it and it sat on my counter for about a week. Then my salt cell chlorine generator died. Luckily, the pool was nice and clear when the cell failed. I dropped this baby into the filter basket (along with a booster pack as recommended for a pool that size) somewhat as a Hail Mary just hopeful that it along with some added chlorine would avert a mess of algae. Well, I only THOUGHT my pool water was clear, because I woke up the next morning to the most beautiful, crystal clear water imaginable — and lines of dead algae on the bottom. This was about 6 weeks ago. I’ve added about 3 gallons of liquid chlorine total in our 40,000 gallon pool since then - probably could’ve gotten away with even less, but we’ve had a ton of rain and yard debris from redoing landscaping.
