PEBO: I was having problems with black algae. I kept scrubbing it off the walls and floor of the pool and began using another brand from the local pool store. It seemed to work well, unfortunately, it was quite expensive and it foamed up.
I found McGrayel Algatec product here on Amazon and began using it. I used the recommended amount for the first treatment and now just 6 oz each week. No foaming and the black algae is totally in check and no green or yellow algae present. Water is now crystal clear...
This is a product that I highly recommend even if one isn't currently having algae problems, better to prevent than have to chase after it.
