PETLIBRO 2L Stainless Steel Cat Water Fountain

Se ve "bonito", los gatos tardaron un poco en mostrarle atención, pero cumple su función y da el "plus" estético (si no te molesta ver el cable de alimentación). Considera que el mantenimiento es indispensable por el tema de los filtros y será un gasto extra fijo. La limpieza es sí o sí y requiere volverse un hábito, consideralo una opción si vas a cumplir con eso. No es ruidoso y no ocupa mucho espacio.

Amanda Ryan: I bought this to replace a plastic one that I'd had for a few years which tended to go green no matter how regularly I changed the filter and gave it a good clean.

This stainless steel one seems to stay fresher for longer and I feel like I can properly sterilise it.

All 3 of my cats took to it immediately, the fountain is quiet and keeps the water flowing nicely. I've been able to purchase replacement filters easily enough and they are very easy to replace.

The fountain has a USB cable which plugs into a standard UK USB plug.

whitney: I’ve had this fountain since May 5, 2021. It is now September 2023. I have the smaller one. The motor and mechanism is finally giving out (low water pressure?). It’s been great overall but it was a pain to get a good clean in the hard reach spaces. I’m going to try the bigger size because you can fill it with more water and you won’t be “overfilling” it like the smaller one (the bigger size has a tube). When cleaning, try to avoid steel wool or anything that hard that will scratch the steel. While steel wool is efficient at getting crud off (i.e. hair and saliva) it will scratch the stainless steel fountain, causing more crud to get caught. I suggest Toothbrushes and straw cleaners (especially for the hard to reach areas). Very good quality. It has lasted me the longest out of any fountain I’ve had.

Mitchel Martin: I purchased two different stainless steel water fountains at the same time for my Yorkies. Both fountains had slightly different shapes, the PETLIBRO Water Fountain was slightly lower profile and had two different levels of filters - one on the outside of the pump, the charcoal filter to cleanse the water as it flowed back down to the reservoir. The other fountain that we bought would only pump about 1" of the water level and stop pumping: it quit working after a few months. The PETLIBRO bottom pumping pump will continue to pump steady through about 70% of the water supply before it starts to pulsate. I have been able to get both replacement filters so I can keep the filtration nice and clean and the fountain has been running non-stop for two years. The pump isn't pumping quite as good as it was new and I was happy to find that I could purchase a replacement pump for a few dollars. I definitely recommend this product for anyone with small dogs.

Igor: Those who are interested in such "high-tech" drinkers have probably already encountered how selective cats can be in what dishes they drink from and what kind of water is there. Many cats prefer to drink from a jet.
Perhaps not everyone knows that cats, when they drink, unlike dogs, wrap their tongue _down_, which makes it very difficult to capture water from a vertical jet. I really learned from my cat that although he prefers to drink from a jet, he never gets drunk enough. So for cats we naturally come to the option of a drinker that has a jet, but the jet have to be horizontal. I was surprised to find that in the presence of a large number of different drinkers, there is only one similar design. It seems that the design of the drinkers is carried out by engineers who have never dealt with the animals for which they are intended. My respect to PETLIBRO engineers! That is, in fact, I did not have to choose a drinker. I must say that my cat also definitely accepted it and began to drink from it regularly in sufficient volume when he wants to. Spencer: It took a while for my cat to adjust to this, but once she did it became an essential item in the house. Sadly, about 6 months in, the pump started failing.
I was cleaning the pump and dish regularly and changing filters but it was noisy and spluttery and eventually stopped.

I originally posted a 2 star review and was contacted within a few days by the manufacturer who sent me an entirely new unit in the post. I have waited a while to update this review just to monitor how the new fountain is working. The new unit has been quieter right from the start and no problems so far, so I’m thinking that the first pump may have been faulty.

Customer service has been swift and polite. I’m sure my 15 year old cat is drinking a lot more since I’ve had this. She much prefers moving water to a warm still water bowl. I’d suggest having a spare pump on hand if you have any problems and look up how to clean the pump under running water to remove any cat fur or dust.

All up, a great product and really switched-on service from Designlibro.

Lavendyr: UPDATE
After posting this review I received a message from PetLibro customer service who very kindly offered to send me a new fountain which is apparently an upgraded design. It is a different product as it is not stainless steel, but I was very appreciative of the contact and the support offered. I have now received the new fountain, but have not used it because I had already bought a replacement fountain from another supplier. Therefore I cannot review the replacement fountain, but I am pleased with the customer service from PetLibro in reaching out to me and offering a replacement. I have upgraded my review to 4 stars due to the customer service, but I think it is important that my original review and rating of the product continues to carry some weight.

Incidentally I have been on holiday and during that time received several chaser emails from PetLibro customer services asking me to update my review - even after I explained I was on holiday! - so while I do appreciate their willingness to provide a replacement product, I do not appreciate being nagged to update my review as a result!

Liz B.Liz B.: I have owned this fountain for 1 year and 2 months. Overall, it has held up very well with proper use and maintenance. My cats are now complete water snobs and will only drink from this fountain.

NOISE: This fountain is almost completely silent. When the water level gets too low, it does start making a sound like the pump is sucking air with the water (which it is). I find this helpful since you cannot see the water level inside the basin.

CLEANING: I did not find appropriate cleaning instructions with this fountain, but have adapted my own cleaning process.

The stainless steel pieces can go in the dishwasher, but the plastic pieces cannot. I personally prefer to clean the whole thing by hand because a) it’s faster since I have to wash the plastic pieces anyway, and b) you should really take all the pieces apart to clean the crevices, including the ones attached to the steel. I ended up purchasing a set of baby bottle cleaning brushes (Munchkin Details Bottle and Cup Detailing Brush Set, $6.47 at Walmart) which I find work much better than the small bush that came with the fountain. There are quite a few nooks and...

DDogDDog: I've purchased both a plastic water fountain and a porcelain water fountain for my cat over the past year. I wanted to see which would work best and what my cat would like best. The plastic fountain was not a good investment as the iron build-up got quite out of hand that I would have to wash the plastic fairly thoroughly after every few days or else my cat would refuse to drink from it. At one point my cat stopped drinking from the fountain altogether and it affected his health. So I moved onto a porcelain fountain. Compared to the plastic fountain, the porcelain one was easier to maintain, but I was not too happy with how much water it consumed. Not only would I have to refill it nearly every day, it also collected all of the water at the bottom like a large bowl, and my cat doesn't seem to enjoy drinking from the bowl as much as he likes drinking from the stream.

So I kept searching for the perfect water fountain for my cat and I suddenly remembered the pet feeder I had purchased months ago and how much I loved it.
